Got back from ND about 4:30 today. Great trip and tailgate with some tremendous friends and Pitt fans. Excellent football weather, too.

Haven't been on the board until now but imagine everything from play calling to officiating has been hashed and re-hashed to death. So just a few thoughts and comments.

The Pitt DL really came off the ball aggressively. Noticeably more explosive. Also got lots of guys around the ball. They were really running to the ball in numbers. Tackling was more sure, too. Holding ND to under 100 yds rushing was impressive.

Nice to see Aaron Mathews step up and play a fine game: both as a receiver and a blocker.

Thought both Reynolds and Pine acquitted themselves quite well filling in for QW. (Even our mostly MIA corner Paris Ford made a very nice tackle).

All good things to see.

But 7 points from the offense just isn't enough. There were some opportunities, too. But they weren't capitalized on and it left the door open just enough for ND. Once again the Pitt passing yardage was pretty anemic. Although it was at least a bit encouraging to see some slants and curls run into the middle of the field.

It'll be interesting to see if the energy and effort the guys played with yesterday can be carried over through the bye week into the Duke game. Still a LOT for Pitt to play for this season as far as the ACC Coastal is concerned.
