So....FSU game is postponed.

Good news especially with the reports of Champs fast healing.

Postponed because of Pitt and Covid or because of FSU and Covid?

Florida State

Edited to add, remember, they were supposed to be the team playing Syracuse yesterday. And their game agaisnt Duke last Saturday was also cancelled because of a positive test. So they are in the middle of it right now.

By the way, changing the Georgia Tech game to Wednesday makes that something of SMF's wet dream come to life. Four games in a row on the ACCN starting in the middle of a weekday afternoon.

Wednesday, January 13
Notre Dame at Virginia | ACCN | 2:30 PM (time change)
Louisville at Wake Forest | ACCN | 4:30 PM
NC State at Florida State | ACCN | 6:30 PM
Pitt at Georgia Tech | ACCN | 8:30 PM (originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday, January 12)

Is there anything better than weekday afternoon basketball? This is a movement, people! This is for the people!

As someone who now works from home, let me tell you, ND vs Virgina during the day is way better than watching Boston vs Holy Cross.

im lucky enough to be working from home, so sports at odd times can be a welcome thing (except Steelers/Ravens on a Wed afternoon)
I’m totally with you. I enjoyed that Cuse tip off time. English soccer and champions league soccer has those afternoon starts as well during the week. I love them and will take them over a 8pm or 9pm start any day.

Which is why I think more leagues will do this post-COVID. 1 league who should really look into it is the NHL. Maybe like a 5PM ESPN package or something

What makes this even better.....I think it was originally scheduled for 5:30 on Tuesday? Well on Wednesday the Pens open up at 5:30. So right after they finish then Pitt will play. Which basically allows me to completely waste 5 hours of a late Wednesday afternoon-evening in sports bliss in middle January.

I didn't realize Pitt/GT was originally 5:30.

So is the NHL doing weekday afternoons also?

I’m watching IUPUI and UW Milwaukee right now. Daytime hoops no matter the level is fantastic!

Actually no, 5:30 on Tuesday didn't work for me next week so they worked with me to move it to Wednesday. The ACC does just about nothing without consulting me.

Well that can't be right. We all know that everyone is available to watch games at any time of the afternoon.

I was so hoping to see our team play FSU today but as others have posted here.....best to get our team healthy and ready to play at full strength.

I think kickoff, just like the NFL has that double header on Monday Night to open. I think the rest of the schedule will be normal times.

The Pengiuns play 37 weekday games in this year's schedule. 33 of them start at 7:00. The opener starts at 5:30, there are two 6:00 games, and there is one 8:00 start.

Apparently the NHL has not gotten the memo that weekday afternoon games are big ratings winners yet.

Next Monday they have games starting at Noon and running all day so that’s pretty cool.

Apparently not. NHL fans on these boards used to say the fact that the reason 2:30 PM weekday EPL games outdrew NHL games was because there was too much competition in prime time. If that is true, then the NHL is really missing the boat by not playing in all these great time windows the EPL has in the US. Weekend mornings, weekday afternoons, what could be better?
