Stallings had two first round draft picks this year on his team and was picked to finish in the Top 20 preseason. He stumbled through the year taking some bad losses in a very weak SEC.

Turner happened to be the AD at Vanderbilt when Stallings was hired in 1999.
Turner was also the AD at Washington. Working for him was SCOTT BARNES who was a Sr Associate Athletic Director.
Scott Barnes and his old buddy (Todd Turner) decided to hire Stallings who was soon to be out of work.
