So Nitter tweeted that if they had TCU's schedule they would be 12-0 and TCU would be 10-2

I actually don't think they would have. It's very difficult to go 12-0 even if you are better than the rest of the schedule. Kansas State is pretty decent, and TCU got lucky as hell to win that game. Texas has been hot and cold. Oklahoma State was decent before falling off a cliff. Etc.

Lol. Sagarin has TCU's schedule 21st and PSU's 42nd. Do agree that PSU's top two games were tougher, but TCU played 7-8 talented teams that could give PSU and others a close game.

I mean maybe if PSU had Sonny Dykes running their offense and Duggan throwing for 29 TDs to 3 INTs? Because their defense wasnt stopping anyone decent.

Yeah, that's the thing. It's easy to say they lost to two really good teams and then handled everyone else, but they beat NO ONE this year. Their best win might be Ohio. Purdue, Minnesota, and Maryland are like beating Syracuse three times.

Exactly, the Big 12 has been very competitive this season. It’s just a lazy narrative based on past results. More proof:

Like I said a week or two ago when there was a thread comparing the ACC and the Big Ten and one of the "theoretical" matchups was Syracuse and Purdue, and the nitter posting in the thread said that Purdue was clearly better. We actually saw that game on the field. It was a game between two bad to mediocre teams that were both trying their damnedest to give the game to the other team. And eventually Purdue succeeded.

Purdue is playing for the Big Ten championship tomorrow. And they are absolutely no better than Syracuse. And maybe a little worse.

And Syracuse stinks.

LOL. Penn State is lucky Iowa, Wisconsin, MSU and Nebraska all had bad seasons, or they would have another loss or two.

you do rea;ize they didnt even play iowa, Wisconsin or Nebraska

OH! I stand corrected. State Penn beat an unranked Purdue team, an Auburn program that hasn't seen back to back losing seasons like this since the 70s, a 1-11 Northwestern team, a 4-8 Indiana team, a 4-8 Rutgers team and a 5-7 MSU team. But please go ahead and keep pretended that if your schedule were just a tad bit easier... then you'd be playing for the national title!

I followed that up with a reply, that if a dozen other teams had Penn State's schedule, they also would have finished 10-2.

Complete lack of self awareness by that group.

Penn State lives the life. Can you imagine being unranked before the season, playing 2 ranked teams, losing both, beating only 4 teams with winning records (1 being a MAC school), and going to the Rose Bowl.

It makes you wonder, why do we play any P5 opponents outside of conference play?

I dont understand pollsters. If you looked at PSU's schedule before the season, I am sure the computers would have had them at 9-3. So they did one better. That's enough to go from unranked to 8th?

Penn State genuinely played 9 cupcakes this year. Maryland is a decent team. They played two good teams and didn't come close either time. Is it even exciting to follow them? There are 2 games that matter every year and they usually get crushed in both.

You forgot to mention two MAC teams at home.

Maryland, Purdue, and Minnesota are similar to Pitt's wins over Syracuse and Duke. Syracuse beat Purdue. So they had 3 decent wins. We had 2. Difference is we lost 3 to mediocre teams and they lost 0.

Tennessee and North Carolina are mediocre?

Yeah this one of the times I don’t get Sagarin at all.

Team A is 12-0, 5-0 vs top 30, 21st SOS
Team B is 10-2, 1-2 vs top 30, 42nd SOS

Team B ranked ahead of Team A.

well if PSU wants TCU's schedule, I am sure the Big 12 would accept them. They would make a great travel partner with WVU for the olympic sports.
