We're 2 first downs away at OKST, 1 incompletion away at UNC, and a third down stop and potentiall game-winning or tying drive against VT from being in the Top 5 right now.

You cant say enough about Matt Canada. I know I like hyperbole, but I'm not sure how anyone can argue that he is NOT the best coordinator in school history. I can't even wrap my head around the things he is accomplishing. Keeping him is going to test Pitt and Scott Barnes's commitment to football because he is going to get big-time offers.

Could you imagine if we had lock down cornerbacks? Who knocked down at least half of those first downs. We would potentially be undefeated, and ranked 2.... just crazy to think about

Heck, don't need lockdown. Just successfully defend 20% of the balls that were either big gains or pass interference with average corners and Pitt is undefeated right now.

The last drive for UNC comes to mind. Just make one play on a 4th down and PITT wins by 6. oh well, nowhere but up from here!

Not that it matters but Michigan has two victories also. Ped state and wisconsin

If we would of stopped UNC on 4th down, we might be ranked. UNC ranked then. Or beat VT, who was ranked? OK ST? 7-3 with some big wins might of got us between #20-25.

Penn State wasn't a Top 10 team when we beat them and, IMO, isn't one now.

When the new CFB Playoff rankings release today, Pitt (@Clemson, PSU), tOSU (@Wisconsin, @Oklahoma) and Michigan (PSU, Wisconsin) will be the three teams with multiple Top 10 victories.

I've read that the Wolverines are down their starting QB with what's believed to be a broken collarbone or separated shoulder. So... Look for tOSU to roll right over 'em in a few weeks.

Thinking the playoff will likely be... 1) Alabama 2) Clemson 3) Ohio State 4) Louisville

I understand winning the conference championship matters. But, what's overlooked a little too often is that when a team has fewer marquis wins AND/OR more losses, I think it allows the committee a pretty easy out which is why I don't believe the PSU/Wisconsin winner has much of chance. Said winner would require more teams to lose in my view. Of course, who the hell knows what will happen down the stretch here?

In that case, OU wasnt a Top 10 team when tOSU beat them. And, Nebraska's been exposed too. That shouldn't count as a Top 10 win as they've yet to beat a ranked opponent are now barely inside the Top 20. But, it doesn't work like that.

I don't think Washington will win out. But, should they do so, I do think they're in better shape than folks are letting on. Should they win out, they close with a Top 15 road win and a Top 15 neutral site win, they be conference champs and would have only a single loss to what's likely going to be a 9-3 Top 15 USC team.
