The teams total collapse just can’t be ignored . Yes they’re playing better teams , but they look lost out on the court . There are no anwsers right now . They have no one who can create their own shot and they simply pass the ball around the perimeter until someone puts up a really poor shot or the shot clock goes off . No ones open , no ones rebounds , they make horrible passes or when they make a good pass they can’t catch the ball , and on defense they make so many mental errors it’s hard to understand how at this point in the season that they’re so unprepared . I know they’re freshman , but there’s two take aways from this . They’re either just not talented enough or they’re not coached well enough . I beginning to believe it’s 80% talent 20% coaching . Unfortunately these guys are still the best freshman class since A&Y . Where does Pitt go from here ?
1) the mastermind of this mess is gone but his cohort KS is next
2) At most Pitt can retain 6 guys from this roster , Luther , Ellison Carr , Stewart , Brown and either Davis and Stevenson .
3) if the next coach doesn’t have anyone to bring I’d take Golden if he’s still interested
4) I’d stopgap the rest of the roster with the best grad transfers I could find .
It’s just sad to watch . it’s like in golf when someone says it can’t get any worse ...yes it
