So what does TB do now?

are these grades that big of a deal prior to the combine? doesn't the combine have a big effect on this? I honestly don't know, just asking. Honestly I think actual on field performance should be bigger factor but I am no nfl scout..

Swervin, I agree to be honest. I know Boyd has slipped on many draft boards, and he had a lot of drops this year and of course the HUGE drop in last year's bowl hurt as well. But he does so many other things so well.

I think he leaves and get picked in the third round unless he does amazing in the combine. Really... as you say, the draft grades mean absolutely nothing, and honestly how you play means like 25%... the combine is what matters. If Boyd preps and runs a 4.28 and benches 8 minivans then he gets into the first round. If he runs a 4.7 and pisses mj then he will be drafted in the 6th round. He is one of those guys that matter that much.

Aaron Donald have off the chart numbers at the combine, and I remember seeing mock drafts, after he won EVERY AWARD possible having him go 28-40th in the draft before the combine, and after his combine performance they had him between 7-15th. The reason he didnt go even higher was his actual size was small for an NFL DT.

Boyd has the same issues. He isnt 6'5, 220 Dez Bryant looking or even Fitzgerald looking. As a real player, he will kick arse in the NFL just like most Pitt guys. He is far better than Devon Street was (and I liked Street here), and Devon has stuck around in the NFL and will continue. But I think his combine numbers wont make people draft him first round.

how can he be upset with his grade "as rumor has it" if he hasn't seen it ? I think he is staying. And the grade/ evaluation has a lot to do with not just combine. AD outplayed many other defensive players, and had a outstanding combine but was still picked lower than Clowney Based on the grade.it is a perception and we know how those go. And AD was a steal. I think Boyd's staying and it will propel him to a number 1 next year. He isn't listed as a top 100 receiver this year and that hurt him. Bad game against navy doesn't help. especially when two weeks earlier a receiver not as good as Boyd got over 100 yards. perception. But he and Pitt will be fine.

Boyd had the chance to establish himself as a true No. 1 offensive option this year and didn't, which will keep him out of the second round. He doesn't have top size and his small frame leads to a number of small injuries. His lack of elite speed and quickness will also be something the NFL takes notice of. However, he does have a knack for coming up with a big reception and will be a very good No. 2 receiver for a team that already has a top option in place.

Didn't Mel kiper say he'd go in first round with a good combine? Call me crazy, but if I know I'm going to be drafted into the NFL and literally make a million bucks over a three or four year period, I'm gone. Makes no sense to risk injury playing college football for free.

Yeah... but that is my point. About 10 receivers could be that guy that goes first round with a good combine. Combine makes WRs, that Heyward Bey that went first round outta no where by running sub 4.3.

There are about 15 guys that have the size, speed, performance that will be first round no matter what, and about 60 others that will be determined mostly from the combine and senior bowl workouts, those 60 could go first to third.

Honestly, I think he will go pro, I dont think there is a chance at all he stays unless A. he knows he wont go high and B. Conner and him are so close that he wants to do something for him and have a special year together... but I mean that may be a one in a million flier

Physically, he has all of the tools but I think the drops do hurt him.

I really thought this was a no brainer til I read some of TB's comments last night. Guessing he has to figure this out pretty quickly in order to get himself enrolled somewhere to work on his "combine skills".

What does TB do now?

After Nebraska gashed his run defense.........TB prays that Mora doesnt shitcan his ass back to Pittsburgh.

Guess the staff wouldn't allow him to see his "draft grade" until after the game and there are already rumors that he's not pleased with his grade. He also spoke like he would miss the "family" but I can't imagine he'd stay if the money was right.

Thoughts?

I think gone as can't imagine his grade is not at least day 2. But to my untrained eye he's lost a step in games this year.

If he's a day one pick he goes why take a chance look what happened to Conner's knee ,one play can end your career. Take the money if it's available .

What Souf said. TB would be crazy to come back.
Souf is right monetarily---from a pure football perspective, after watching many other teams, he is way down on the list, not quick enough, less-reliable, less physical---would love to see him return
