Then dont transfer. If you consider bowls or the NCAA Tournament as part of the season then you shouldn't open the portal during the season.

It's that and the coaches at the new school don't want their new player injured while playing for someone else in the Lawnmower Bowl.

Pretty simply because you need to enroll in a school before the semester starts.

But having the portal open now really screws up these playoffs. I can't imagine a coach letting a guy plan after he's entered the portal.
