Havent seen much? The kid from GCC who is probably a walk-on. Who else? I cant imagine we had many scholarships to give.

I did talk to women’s team folks at length. They’ll be better. But still have a long way to go. You thought the basketball program that Jamie and Stallings left behind was bad...the women’s program was worse when the new regime took over. They’ve strengthened Some units and have some higher profile kids coming in. But to outpace or gain ground on the rest of the ACC is a tall task.

LOL! So in other sports like football or basketball, do you say table? Or standings? Pitch or field? Kit or Uniform? Nil or zero? It's just funny how Americans strive to use the English terms, but only when talking about soccer.acc men's and women's soccer is pretty much the top 25 with a few others sprinkled in. pretty amazing. to even get to mid table in the conference is a massive achievement.

Did Lammers sign with Pitt? I’m seeing some things online that indicate he is (was?) committed to Penn. Seems like he’d be a nice piece for the back end.Team recruiting rankings 2019
3) UNC
4) wake
8) PSU
11) Duke
12) NCSU
20) ND
23) Virginia
24) Akron
Pitt class that I know of:
Kia Lammers- NYCFC- mid/def- recently got his first call up to the U18 MNT camp.
Luke Mort- RDA- Forward—the kid from GCC.
Veljko Perkovic-NYCFC-mid-ranked #128 in the IMG Top 150.
Yeah. Looks as though he committed to Penn. Not sure if he flipped or what the deal was. Pitt did not announce him as part of their class.Did Lammers sign with Pitt? I’m seeing some things online that indicate he is (was?) committed to Penn. Seems like he’d be a nice piece for the back end.
So he ended up signing with Penn? Bummer.Yeah. Looks as though he committed to Penn. Not sure if he flipped or what the deal was. Pitt did not announce him as part of their class.

No problem, I've been associated with soccer for years, with my daughter and awhile back, I even played in an adult rec league, and nobody ever used English terms. Then not long ago, I commented on a soccer related Facebook page that I thought it was odd that American TV would always hire English announcers and now they are trying to force English terminology on us. Of course it's 2019, so I was inundated with attacks and called racist and a bigot. Maybe I am? I honestly don't care, but why don't we make soccer our own and use our terms? No big deal, I just find it funny and continue to use American terms.when i was typing, "table," was in my mind. and i was pretty much thinking only FK would read it and i knew he'd be thinking in the same terms. and that someone would get their panties in a bunch about it so figured it'd make me laugh. in soccer i think of the term "table." b/c i'm used to it. haven't transitioned to pith, kit (never will), and nil. i'm not striving for anything, it's just what i've become accustomed to in regards to the terminology. i played rugby - they called it a pitch but i wasn't around it enough for my mind to start thinking of that term. it's really not a big deal. no one is striving to sound english that i know of (except madonna - she definitely was trying).

No, I just don't do it.Is it really that hard to understand why when people in one country adopt a game that came from another country that they sometimes use the terminology of the people where the game came from? Really?
I wonder if there were a group of Europeans who got their panties in a bunch when the NFL Europe league was going on if people called the pitch a field? Probably were, I guess.

It doesn't "bother me" it just seems strange, because the same person that talks about a soccer "table" talks about football "standings". When they are the same thing. And if it did bother, why does it bother you that I think it's odd? It just seems like pandering to something. It's not that you just don't do it, it's that it bothers you when other people do. Why do you care if someone calls the soccer field a pitch when that's what it's called all around the world?

I just never did it, and never thought to do it. and I'm totally serious that I have been closely involved in soccer for over a decade and never saw it in person, they always said field, zero, uniform, standings, etc. So when I see those things used I find it strange. I guess it's not hard to understand, just hasn't been my experience. Is it really that hard to understand why when people in one country adopt a game that came from another country that they sometimes use the terminology of the people where the game came from? Harry Kane flew into Atlanta for the super bowl and then put some things on social media. He had a sideline pass for the game and posted a picture from there. He captioned it “my view of the pitch” or something like that. I'm more like Harry Kane, I'd be in England saying, "My view of the field, teams have nice uniforms, score still zero-zero, they are tied in the standings too"... Additionally, I find myself saying “nil” often. As well as “brilliant” and “nicely done”. My non soccer friends usually rib me for it.
I have no problem with NBC hiring brits to do their EPL games. It’s an English league and the English announcers understand it better than most Americans. Yesterday I had to watch a chelsea Europa match on Spanish tv. That always seems odd to me but hey it’s better than nothing. Is it really that hard to understand why when people in one country adopt a game that came from another country that they sometimes use the terminology of the people where the game came from? I can relate, it's like me with Greeks. Great curse word culture, and t's not like here, EVERYBODY uses the equivilant to the F-word in casual conversation, no big deal. Malaka is literal Jack Off, but depends on how you use it, it can mean someone is a Jagoff or you smile, slap your friend on the back and call him a Malaka and you both laugh about it. What I really enjoy is Greek Basketball commentary. In Europe, Greece is to basketball like England, Spain or Germany is to soccer, one of the top few countries. Their basketball commentary uses some American words, but they'll make some Greek adjustments, like a "Triponto" literally translates to Three Pointer for example.it's the curse words, for me, as i have the brain of a 13 year old. they really have a great menu and they use them so well. tosser, nonce, etc. now, i have to catch myself b/c i truly will sound like an idiot throwing that out to americans. but it's great when conversing with english buddies.

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a Chelsea fan discussion regarding their first year manager, and they linked the studio discussion from NBC regarding the issue. These were all English folks in the conversation. They loved the American coverage. They thought our commentary was better than what they get domestically in the U.K. That said, the discussion in the NBC studio was with the two Robbie’s, who are English guys (the black guy and the white guy). We are blessed to have the coverage that we have.
