I cannot wait to start my own search firm. Biggest racket going.

  2. Some AD’s hire search firms just for cover. Other AD’s are clueless and rely on them. Some hire them to get bigger AD jobs.

Search firms and athletic directors need to be held far more accountable than they are.

Primary connection here was Todd Turner — ex-Vandy AD who hired Stallings way back when. He’s now running search firm. Man, search firms.

Pro tip- Keep Todd Turner away from your athletics programs.

Todd Turner...ruining college athletic departments for over 30 years now. Sheesh.

Sounds like Todd Turner did what was best for him and his friend Stallings paychecks at Pitt's expense. #unethical #whybarnes

Todd Turner of CSA led this search. He hired Scott Barnes at Washington. He also hired Stallings at Vandy. All fits together now.

Couldn't Barnes see this?? Don't these guys do some research before hiring search firms? Plus why wouldn't Barnes object to Stallings and just say no? I don't get any of this.

I'm going to suggest that Barnes absolutely did see this and that's why he made this hire.

Barnes did this so he gets placed at a bigger better AD job soon by Todd Turner's search firm. Straight cash homey.

This makes no sense on any level

What the media thinks doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is cash to the program. Just stop attending and giving

The implication here from Goodman is that Barnes is staying in this search firm's good graces to leverage a better AD job. These firms have a short list of candidates for coaching and AD jobs that they push. It appears that they colluded with Barnes to open the Vandy job and place a candidate at both Pitt and Vanderbilt, which means they get paid twice.

-Its coming. Guaranteed. With all this smoke that is pouring out all over the place.
A lawsuit? Stop.

Bad shit happens because people make bad deals with a friend or relative. Welcome to the business of...Everything.

Nepotism/cronyism isn't scandalous, it is an infestation in every business everywhere.

Follow the money.

-That's what a court of law is for. You dont know what happened behind close doors. The fact ESPN and CBS is pumping this tells you it has juice.

What school is dumb enough to hire Barnes after this? Pitt already has him, so that eliminates us. This is all so maddening. Is Barnes seeing/hearing any of this? Does he understand the implications?

-Starting to Pile up deep, Sporting News and others jumping on the train. They see the unethical bullshit that just took place.

@GoodmanESPN @PittChancellor @PittADBarnes AD, some list you had... Stops at Todd Turner. Unethical. Pitt = embarrassment at natl level.

[Barnes] contracted Collegiate Sports Associates as a search firm. Former Vandy AD Todd Turner, who hired Stallings (1/2) via @sportingnews

I was thinking that Barnes was angling for a job with Todd Turner, but who will hire that firm now? Maybe they thought everyone was too stupid to see through their master plan and they would all make money in the deal. Now Barnes will be fired and Turner will be out of business. And Pitt got royally screwed in the process.

-I honestly think this is the start of it. Turner and Barnes are getting ripped everywhere right now. Literally, everywhere.

Anybody searching for an AD is likely to notice how this hire turned out.

Now exactly who do you think is going to ignore that and hire Barnes?

You would like to think that your AD would be fully capable of completing their own search and not have to rely on a search firm.
