This weekend talking to a good source in Beaver County is the Central Valley Football Banquet and some of them will be there.

They said they heard, Pitt is not It for Foster. Where he is looking they did not know now. These a different sources that once said it was between OSU & PITT for RF!

My Info is by no means Insiders just some Folks that know some Players and their Parents in High School and at Colleges. No hunches and not even Guesses, just second hand Info among friends.

They also told me, the Pitt Players in the Program are very happy, working hard developing their skills, conditioning, and feel great things will happen in 2017. They practice and study together and keep much to themselves with no fanfare, and some great talent is showing up. They love being at Pitt under Coach Narduzzi & Staff. They said Pitt will be ready to play in 2017 even better than 2016. All positive and some Pitt Players will be going to the Banquet.

We shall see?

I have no actual facts, but I've read in many places that he needs 27 credits to graduate. That number of credits would be very difficult to achieve in a spring and partial summer. Therefore I believe that he'll not be a grad transfer and he'll have to play below FBS level in order to use his 5th year. Think Delaware, etc...
If he can pull off 27 credits (assuming the number is correct) by August 1st and make it to Pitt's pre-season practice I'd show up to your Youngstown State opener...and I am in no way a Pitt fan, but on that day I'd be an RF fan.

He gave P5 a chance and it didn't work out. He should go to a pass happy mid level non P5 team, hope to put up some numbers and maybe get a look in NFL.
If 27 credits is correct he'll most likely need to drop below D1 in order to play his 5th year. The G5 is still D1, so Delaware, Bucknell, Youngstown State (oh, wouldn't that be great!), etc.

Well, good Info from all of you, and if it is YSU, the Pitt & RF Fans will see the Game this year?

Someone posted how he is close to recruiting coordinator at Rutgers and that is likely destination. 27 credits, that's a tough task. 18 credits in spring and knock out 3 summer classes in first summer session?

Well, if RF ends up at YSU, he is a Pitt problem to cover, if RF ends up at Rutgers it is PSU problem, RF has tremendous Talent & Skills but needs to focus on them and his studies.

By the way, Tony Dorsett's Older Brother "Keeky" juts died recently too, I was told. Tony had Ernie, Tyrone, and Keeky ahead of him, and I am told by Bookies in the Know, all 3 werr just as Great as the Hawk, in running, speed, quickness, eyesight, and moves.......What a Talented Family!

Oh, by the way...Not many college students graduate in 4 years and needing 27 credits during (again, I don't know if true) during 4th (Senior) year is not bad at all...

I always thought that College Athletes should not be treated as just Students but given a reduced load when they are practicing and playing, and then stay on campus go in the summer to make up for them while training and being given jobs at the university in that summer.

This way the when a CFB Player is hurting after a week practice and game during the season it is hard to study when one travels and is sometimes in pain, but still expected to be treated as a regular student, just not fair, and ignoring greater time and demands are place on the Athletes over regular student. But the the NCAA comes in and says the Amateur Rules must always treat them as Students and that is just unrealistic when they are doing so much more.

Student Athletes on Scholarship should be given less credit during the seasons and then make up for them in the summer as they remain and train at the campuses too.

Never was a Fan of One Peg for all Holes, some Pegs given more burdens on them should also get flexible treatment that helps them finish an education. It not special treatment it is practical adjustments based on greater demands on them and their time.

After practices, traveling and playing games, these Student Athletes are more tired than regular students and deserve some breaks in the face of those demands. They miss classes and are tired in them too. So, come up with a better way so they earn an education that adapts to their athletic regulations.

This goes for all Student Athletes Women and Men Sports I knew a Father who showed up at UVA one day to see his Daughter, and saw here hands were raw and peeling with dead skin and bruises, she was on the row Team. he had to take her to the Doctors. She just refused to practice less and in time they changed that policy.

Universities have to change many aspects of their Amateur Policies passed in 1900s and not seeing the changes that need to be made. Regular Students would not mind their fellow Student athletes being given less burdens during their seasons and staying on campus all year around with breaks to go home.

Yes, we agree. D1 athlete's have a hard time.
As an engineering student I couldn't imagine also having played football and maintained my grades, while also having a life...

Are you planning any trips to State College in the few months? I'd like to meet up you. How about February 11th? My son is giving a speech on that day so I'll be in town that weekend.

I was there a Day a few weeks after I return from California, I had to go to NYC, Philly, Harrisburg and was suppose to be in DC today, but Snow stopped it.

I like traveling Routes 22, 6, 30, in PA, and 1, 15, 40 PA, WV, MD & DC and 7 & 14 in Ohio and stop off at many museums, campuses, and historic sites.

I am semi-retired although I am getting a tad busier then I want. I may be having some dealings in Boston soon, and I told them, I prefer driving not flying, usually that takes 10-13 Hours from Pittsburgh to Boston, but my way adds another day. I want to stop at the Farmers Museum in Coopertowns.

I am not going to be blogging much anymore anyhow, but every time I want to walk away from CFB........Friends from Pitt, USC, PSU, ND and WVU bring me back in, but even now I just post on few a topics, and defer to better posters that know the topics better. I am too verbose too!

I only watch last 5 minutes of Pro Sports Games if they are close. I can't determine and do not hook up with anyone on the Net (No Offense), I have No Cable, No Social Media, do not use Emails often at all anymore, No Texts, No Phone Net, No Phone Emails, and just switched my Smart Phone to a Dumb Phone, just a Phone, Camera and Recorder.

I learned recently one thing in Silicon Valley from a Lawyer:
1. Does this need to be said.
2. Does this need to be said by me.
3. Does this need to be said by me NOW!

I am going to follow that on my Postings and again, I am only around now because Coach Pat Narduzzi has pique my interests but I spend too much time anymore.

I am just happy Pitt, Penn State, and WVU are back in the Top 25 again and I have seen enough Posters on the Free Lair that know far more, and many topics i do not even read, I am no longer in need of giving my opinion anymore. Most of my Posts are just Links!

Good Luck to you, your son, and PSU Family too.

Keep in mind, I doubt Alabama is going to pay for his summer classes either considering he is transferring and coming up with the cash for all those classes plus covering room and board until he completes all said classes might be a nut tough to cover.

Maybe he stays at Alabama and completes his eligibility and academic requirements there next year. So it didn't work out the way he hoped, but it's still not a bad deal. Alabama has stepped up its academic game in recent years, so a while a degree from there doesn't have the same cachet as one from Pitt, but it does carry more weight than it did ten or so years ago.

Its great he gets a degree I believe all pro athletes should one way or another. It'll make them better people!

But its a far cry from a shot at an NFL career!

I believe if he had set his sights on a U opportunity that was more realistic he'd be doing something at the next level.

Greed sometimes clouds the mind!

Foster and Boyd together would have been a wonderful thing...would have probably been good for 2 or 3 wins from 14-16...I always thought he was a better safety than WR too, could have helped us there if he could ahve grasped the schemes.

They most definitely will.

As a general undergrad? There is basically 0 difference. All that matters is region. If you are in the Midwest or Northeast, Pitt might mean more (although still a lot of people will be just as familiar with Alabama from a name standpoint). If you are in the South, Alabama will mean more. Anywhere else? Probably doesn't make a lick of difference.

Bill Napier is the WR coach at Bama. He is rumored to be the next Offensive Coordinator at Pitt. (may be happening right now)

Foster hates Napier! If Napier stays, Foster leaves. He blames his current status on Napier. Obviously if Napier is named OC at Pitt, Foster is not going to be transferring to Pitt under any conditions.

If Napier leaves Bama, Foster may stay under new WR Coach Locksley.

He's got a year left to show his skills and try and make the NFL, which he hasn't done yet. But in no way should he be upset about his college career thus far.

Great point. This board acts like this kid made a monumental mistake that ruined his life. If His choice to accept a free ride to the premiere college football program in the country, being a backup wr, winning multiple national championships, is the worst decision he will make in life, he will have a nice life.

Exactly. Like I said, he's got one year to prove himself so I can see why he would transfer. But being a backup on that team is still a great thing to be a part of. Just to say he ever saw the field for that program while they were winning championships is something for him to look back one day.

Yeah, screw the NFL. He will still have the splinters in his azz to prove he was there. Might catch him a comp beer someday.

Still scorned after all these years? Time to let it go, much more recent wpial players blew us off recently, let's show our hatred for them.

if you think you're good enough to start or have pride at all why would he be proud of this? i'd rather be a star player on a team that lost every game

You'd rather be a star on a team that lost every game over a role player on a national championship team? Ok, you are in the minority for sure. Doesn't make you wrong or right.

why would you take pride in a championship that was won without you? you would rather sit the bench than actually play?

you would also have more of a shot at the nfl being a star on the losing team, who knows maybe foster has nfl talent but we'll never know because there is almost zero tape of him in an actual game

i think it's weird i'm supposedly in the minority, why would you rather be a small fish in a big pond than be a large fish in a small pond?

If recruits agreed with you, terrible teams would have better recruiting classes. It was won without him? He was on the team. So you are saying every backup who has ever played on a team that won something, they shouldn't take any pride in that teams accomplishments? That's quite a statement.

To answer your question, id rather be a role player on a Premiere college football program, reaping all the rewards that gets you, and winning a national championship than being a great player on a team that gets killed week in and week out.

Your goal of trying to paint this as a monumental mistake just isn't adding up.

I hear ya. Also, what about being a main cog on a team in which your presence helps said team to become that much more competitive.
If Robert Foster was anywhere close to the impact player some continue to suggest his just being a starter of even a moderate team would elevate that team.
I have no idea what this kid's deal is but for those who constantly continue to make this young man out to be something he has shown no evidence of is far beyond played out.
There are too many other young men out there playing on teams nowhere close to as prominent as Bama who have more than proven their abilities despite not having the resources, opportunities, etc. of playing in the SEC. And what they have proven is they could more than play at that level if given the chance today. We need to get away from what this kid did in H.S.

H2 PITT !!!
P.S. You cannot tell me that had Tyler Boyd gone to Bama they would not have found a way to get Tyler onto the field. The kid would have gotten PT regardless how talented a team he chose. Just like he stepped up on game 1 against the future National Champion FSU from that first play WR end around for 30 plus yards.
