This game was lost in the margins. There were little plays that really killed us. The rebound going off of McGowens with no one around him because he didn't catch the ball first was a killer. We have a potential break that leads to a 3.
I'm not one of the "this guy should never shoot" people, but unless we are close on the shot clock, there are certain players that should only be shooting wide open threes. McGowens and Champaigne were 2-12 from 3. That's 10 empty possessions in a game where we took 59 shots. The way McGowens kept launching deep 3's you'd have thought he was on fire. Need better.
Murphy has been such a great addition. The fact that he returns next year is going to really propel this team next season. 35% from 3 isn't sniper level but it helps open up the offense a bit.
This was our second bad loss this year. We were up 16 early and it felt like our team thought the game was won.
