Taking my son for a walk yesterday - had some recognition of folks putting themselves at risk :
    1. Post office workers
    2. Bus drivers - saw the 71a on our walk and had the sudden sickening feeing that busses still need to run and workers Rely on them - and are essentially in a box with public all day .
    3. Grocery workers
    feel free to add yours

I think healthcare is a given
But let me spin to another
Medication distribution delivery drivers (places like McKesson , HMPG , etc )
Who are essentially to getting supplies and medications to hospitals and pharmacies

I had to get a few groceries, went to the local store early this morning, saw the wife of one of my younger co-workers. They have three children, like 12-3 range. She is usually very bubbly, today as I passed by she spoke, she seemed scared and even mentioned that seeing a lot of people is a work hazard. They need the money, I felt really bad for them........

Food/grocery delivery drivers. Their work is making sure a lot of elderly can stay home and avoid putting themselves at risk.

I don’t know but the point remains
Plenty of anonymous and under appreciated folks make our lives so much better without much pay and certainly little appreciation

anyone who despite a terrible economic outlook, health outlook, keeps their shit together and does what ever they can do to make the world better or just not worse...and if that means staying at home, watching TV all day, and not hoarding, then that is good enough to be a hero in these circumstances

I have to wonder about the wisdom of public transportation being open for business. Seems to me that is a great way to continue spreading the disease.

You are on a public bus in this city, you are gonna catch something. And that’s during non pandemic times.

Ok, but hero wouldn’t be the right world and you do know this. I get what you’re saying, but if language isn’t important to you, then words have little meaning. The word hero has certainly lost its meaning in our culture. It is used as flattery rather than honest meaning.

If you would have written what you did now at first, it wouldn’t have been hyperbole.

Do you wonder about the wisdom of how people who don’t own cars will get food or get to the doctor without public transit? Trust me no one is getting on a bus for shits and giggles right now.

Ya certainly some of these people taking the bus are mission critical. You don't want someone who works at the gas company who can't get to their job because there are now buses.

I have a friend that work for PAT, a friend that's a chef at GE market district and a friend that's a postal employee. All outstanding examples.
