This is a link from one of the weather blogs I frequent. I linked it because it specifically talks about Roanoke. Some of it is confusing weather jargon, but it gives you an idea what is in store for that area beginning Friday morning. For anyone traveling, just stay alert and be careful.

The people at the Weather Channel are saying South Carolina appears to be in for the worst of it. The Upper level low sitting in the south combined with Joachim out in the Atlantic is supposed to create a huge band of moisture over SC and extending up through western NC and into the Roanoke and West Virginia area. The Roanoke area is going to get a lot of rain but not as much as SC. And a lot of it may come later Saturday into Sunday. It is going to be a soggy ball game for sure.
