by young Trevor Lawrence. His eyes were always downfield. I mean, he is facing Alabama and while Clemson did a pretty good job in protection, Lawrence was always looking downfield.
Kenny Pickett is obviously not Trevor Lawrence. And yes, the pass protection was bad. But we see all of these films of Pickett, and his arm is good, he can make the throws in practice and these QB sessions. But when the heat is on, it is live fire, I see Pickett looking way too much at the incoming pass rush than actually downfield for a receiver. Scarily the comparison is a bit like Tino. He becomes paralyzed and takes the sack. I don't if this is something that can be learned, to move up into the rush, look downfield and just let it go. Instead of looking at the defenders coming and trying to figure out how to bail on them, which then everything breaks down.
