I've learned over the years that the best thing to do when Pitt is playing an important game, is to schedule something that evening. A dinner party, theatre, anything. That's because you f-ing know that Pitt will shit the bed and at least if you have something scheduled, it takes your mind off how pissed off you are. I'm actually not pissed off at the loss. That was expected. What pisses me off is that I can't seem to kick this stupid habit of getting all riled up about Pitt. I should be able to stop. Just walk away....can't do it, which really pissed me off because I KNOW that I'll be subjecting myself to years of pain. All I can say is that if suffering on earth is a ticket to heaven, Pitt fans are shoe ins.

On to my game observations:

1. Narduzzi is one stubborn son-of-a-bitch. He watches week after week as his corners are absolutely toasted and keeps putting them out there on an island. Here's a news flash Pat.. those freakin guys can't cover.

2. Wimpy, no guts play calls. In crunch time, we fold. 2 weeks in a row, we had a chance to close the deal and we run chicken shit "safe" plays that have no chance of getting the first down. Simply horrible.

3. Peterman can't graduate fast enough for me. I don't care if the guys completes 90% of his passed, they go for no yards and he is absolutely terrible in the clutch. He overthrows simple 4 yard completions that would move the chains at crunch time.

4. Do we even have a pass route that goes greater then 7 yards? Way to stretch that field.

5. We have virtually no play makers on defense. Price is the only guy on the dline who showed up. The rest stunk.

6. I can't even put into words how terrible our dbacks are. I am longing for the days of Lafayette Pitts. My god Terrish Webb is bad. Can't cover anyone and missed more tackles then my grandmother. Maddox is supposed to be our best CB? That must be a bad joke. Lewis is equally bad. God, how can these guys let so many receivers get behind them? And while I'm ranting, Whitehead hasn't done much either. In 30 years of watching Pitt football I can't remember a worse group and that's saying a lot.

7. Sean Idowu covering a WR in the slot????? Really??? Are you kidding me?

8. I honestly think it's time to sit Maddox, Lewis, and Webb. These are upper classmen who can't play. I'd much rather take my lumps with some young guys to see what they can do then to watch these bozos go out and get b-slapped week after week.

OSU was bad, but this was far worse. This was a game we absolutely should have won. Nicely done Pitt.

I agree with your game observations, but I am pissed off at the loss because the coaching staff didn't make any defensive adjustments after the PSU and Ok State games or in-game. Although the secondary is clearly abysmal, the coaching staff deserves much of the blame for the loss because they made no scheme or personnel adjustments. Narduzzi is clearly not a defensive guru. Coaching is easy when you have good athletes like he had at Michigan State. Not so easy at Pitt.

And don't blame the 4th quarter offensive woes all on Peterman either. Even though we were up by 13, it was clear we couldn't stop them. Yet, for the 3rd consecutive game, the offense inexplicably went conservative in the 4th quarter and played not to lose. Sure, Peterman is mediocre, but you must play to win the game and give him an opportunity to make a play on 1st or 2nd down. Play action, perhaps?

That was another in a long history of tough losses. And to make it worse, Narduzzi is starting to remind me of Wanny.
