i can't help but wonder what Goodfellas would have been like had it been a series like the Sopranos, and spread out over multiple seasons. You never know, but I will say I love the movie so much I would have loved being able to dig deeper in to some of the storylines and characters.

I think DeNiro wanted the role of Michael but lost out and got the young Vito.. Loved Sonny's character and im a big Duvall fan too. im actually annoyed Sonny got killed so early but I guess that was the whole plot and kind of jump started Michael into the world.

Not to forget a really terrific actor taken before his time with John Cazale (Fredo). Great cast all around..

Not to hijack this thread but I read where Cazale was really sick during Deer Hunter, to the point of being a pain to even walk. He did some physical scenes, those guys drinking and jumping on each other during the reception scene and cabin scenes, at the bar, stuff like that and the cast really was in shock how he could do this while being almost to the point of being bed ridden. I really like that dude, its a shame we lost him at so young an age..
And he was married to Meryl Streep, back when she was kind of hot!

29 years....

One of the best quotes I’ve heard in awhile...

I’m just a Larry, looking for a Richard to manipulate, an adventure to be had, and a Bernie to finance it
something about Andrew McCarthy just drives me nuts. think it was him in st elmos fire or less than zero or some other 80s movie that ruined him for me.

"Now go get your shinebox!"
that actor just passed away I think in the last few months. Always liked him. he seems to always be in these mafia movies. I know he was in Casino, I remember him in that horrid scene where they kill Pesci and his brother with a baseball bat and bury them alive. that scene still turns my stomach.
