Definitely like to hear that and at this stage, you have to sense that the enthusiasm is genuine, given there is so much time left.

A lot of times, the prospects who take it down to the last minute on the last day produce drama, which the media (and some fans) dig. But even if they sign in the end, they give the impression that they have major doubts and that they simply settled because the one they REALLY wanted wasn't a better situation. Which in turn makes you wonder about their true commitment.

Yeah, everyone gotta look out for #1 (without stepping in #2 ... thank you Thornton Melon), but you like to get the sense the kid is truly gung-ho about where he's going and making the team a winner. Hey I like a good personal-success story as anyone, but as a fan, I'm rooting for the laundry, not the individuals.
