In follow up to the near universal agreement that the Spring Game draft system makes no sense and is done for, I was thinking about what might make the most sense from a fan interest and player development standpoint.
I think it would be fun to see Pitt do a 2 part spring game event, with the first part being a 7 on 7 game, followed by a scrimmage.
7 on 7 would give us all a chance to see the skill players have some fun and showcase their abilities. I think the players would revel in the chance to go one on one in front of a crowd in that format, trashtalkin' and showboatin'... QBs slinging the ball without worrying about a whistle. Then play the equivalent of one half of football after that and everyone goes home happy.
