I think everyone would agree that the ACC is significantly down this year as compared to past years. My question is two parts.
(1) How much better if any (record wise) do you think Stallings' team would have been if they played in the ACC this year?
(2) How much worse if any (record wise) do you think Capel's team would have been if they played in the ACC during the Stalling's years?

Stallings' first team might have made the tournament in this ACC. That team was 12-3 with wins over Virginia and Maryland before an 8-game losing streak derailed the season. And there were some close losses to teams that would wipe the floor with almost any current teams in the ACC.

I have no idea about his team the following year. I suspect they would have at least won a game or two but probably not many more than that.

No, that team got blasted by everyone in the conference, good or bad. If they were getting run out of the gym at home by #119 Georgia Tech, I don’t know why they wouldn’t also have been run out of the gym by #127 and #128 NC State and Louisville.

The 0-18 year was a very good year for the league. Its why I said before that season that 0-18 is very possible and people said no way, that's impossible. Too many sure-fire guaranteed losses. That said, that team was really bad. I think they would have gone 2-18 in this ACC.

The three worst teams in the league (besides us, obviously) in the 0-18 season were Boston College, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. Luckily for us, we got all three of those teams at home. We lost those three games by 23, 15 and 6.

Is it possible that that team could win a game or two playing this year's ACC? Yeah, sure, possible. But you'd have to be an idiot to think that it would be a given. That 6 point loss to Wake was the only one of our last nine regular season games decided by less than 12 points.
