But Artis was first off the bench spelling Jones... along with Luther (as opposed to Maia) spelling ANO.
And Jamel gets our first points of the year (well, first POINT as the second FT was missed). 0-6 from the floor while Gannon is scoreless.
I like the Milligan, Jeter, Artis, Johnson and Luther lineup. Solid D AND some solid minutes offensively.

Holy Frijoles... Mike Young needs to practice the Mikan drill for 12 hrs a day... my man has some serious probs finishing around the rim.

Dixon goes with the same starting lineup for the second half.... meaning Jones starting not Artis.
So far this team looks much better than last years. Way more decisive offensively as a team and not just looking for Artis ALL THE TIME. It"s Gannon, but I like the effort defensively and on the boards so far.
Thank goodness you dont Coach basketball Zara. Artis just buried a 3. Chris Jones would still be turning the ball over and our offense would be stuck in the mud with you wanting to bench Artis for the last week.

Artis is +15 this half as the backup when they switched at the 15 minute mark. . Artis leads all scorers with 14. Pitt has crushed Gannon with Artis on the floor.
Nah. Just reminding everyone Artis is still the go to scorer on this team and we are going to beat good teams this year with offense, not defense.
Robinson with three 3's. Only problem is Robinson is the guy that is used to padding stats against cupcakes and not showing up in ACC conference games. At this point, albeit way early, at least he is making shots. That's a start and its better to be late than never. Everyone knows all of Pitt's power is in the frontcourt. But like I said, if we can hit 3's from the backcourt with just 1 player, we can get into the dance and get into the Sweet 16. 6-14 from 3 land, good start.
Well... Dixon IS a coach and he started Jones... though it was something I would not have done... but maybe it worked because Artis got it going and it was the first time this year.
Nix and Wilson did not play. Nix wlll redshirt. Wilson sick/injured? Or will he be redshirted also?
