Her's my uninformed thoughts on Stallings. He is not looked at as a positive for the program. We were looked at as as
n upper tier program in the Dixon years. Maybe not at he end or the last year or 2, but with the correct hire we could have been moving up. My point is that when a new coach is hired you usually get an uptick in recruiting. We got no one in the first year, although I know it was a short time, but in the first full year we struck out on everyone. It seems that Kevin was more interested in cleaning house than keeping some guys and getting all his own players. That would be fine if the current class would have been a home run. It is not. They may be OK, but now Stallings is in a bad situation. Rumors of him not being here are rampant with coaches recruiting against him. I am not a Stallings fan or a fan of the hire, but it is a sticky situation. Does Pitt keep him and hope that he can pull us out, or do we get rid of him. If we do it better be a home run hire or it will just get worse. I do not know the answer. I am just an die hard fan who has had season tickets for 30 years and want to get back to making the tourney. Some of the new guys are promising, but I do not want to wait 10 years before we get competitive again. I don't want to get into a Dixon thread. That is water over the damn. I just want to see positive results that I can feel good about.
Sorry for the rambling.
