Pretty sure they did the worship program to add to the attendance-brought some Joebots who wouldn't have normally attended that game.http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/boxscore?id=25743
I didn't see the game but for a lousy Temple team, Penn State had 100,420 people there. Temple.
Looked like 25,000 empty seats to my eyeshttp://www.foxsports.com/college-football/boxscore?id=25743

Who cares? Every ticket is sold from now until FOREVER. It's funny when anti-Steeler Pitt fans try to diss the Steelers AS IF Pitt will ever compete with them in popularity. LOL.Wow, terrible today. Looks like beaver stadium did yesterday.

I'm not trying to diss the Steelers, as I'm a life-long Pittsburgh resident and grew up a Steelers fan. And I ASSURE you the Steelers don't view the empty seats as a non-issue because they're "sold". You have one of the most iconic franchises in all of sports, yet they struggle at times to get people to use their tickets or stay in their seats. As someone said on their board today when asked what to expect from the crowd today, "There will be fair amount of empty seats and an unenthused crowd that dies off with every tv time out just like the rest of the games in recent years."
Actual attendance is an issue for every team. Even if the seats are purchased for a Steelers game - if you're not using them, buying 10 dollar drinks, eating 15 dollar sandwiches, buying merchandise, etc. it's a huge hit to the bottom line.

I go to at least one Steelers game a year, in recent years I try to go September or October, specifically to try to have decent weather. But rain and 80 degrees is no problem, I'm trying to avoid rain and 35 degrees.I was in section 209. There were a ton of yellow ponchos sold which made it look like yellow seats. There were some empties. When a mildly warm day with some rain is called bad weather we are officially a wimpy football town. What happened to the great Pittsburgh fans ? The next generation of stadiums better have retractable roofs or empty seats will be the norm if it is hot, sunny, freezing, snowing,, or raining. Wimps
That was not because of the game, it was because it was a holy day of obligation (Joemas, "the birth of PSU Joe") in their religion.http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/boxscore?id=25743
