Avery Williamson is being traded from the Jets to the Steelers, Rapoport reported. A starter for four seasons with the Titans, Williamson has started six games this season with the Jets after starting 16 last year. The Steelers are sending their 2020 fifth-round draft pick in exchange for Williamson and the Jets' 2022 seventh-round pick.

Good pick up.

Great trade to make. Need depth at the position and just swapped picks two years from now.

The only question at this point is can the Stillers beat KC? Mahomes is a beast. He's young and plays like a stud.
Employ the Tony Dungy scheme that consistently would beat Andy Reids Hybrid West Coast offense. That simple. And the Steelers have the personnel to do it. Its why the Steelers have had success against KC even with Reid there

If the Steelers can stay healthy(which is going to be hard for every team) and can get the only first round bye they have a great shot at beating KC.

Like the move, but I hope it doesn’t take away a ton of PT from Spillane. Personally I already like him more than Williams, and if they’re letting Spillane wear the headset I’d think of the 2 you’d want him to stay on the field as much as possible. Maybe not great in coverage, but I think better than Williams.

He didn't play at all last year after injuring is ACL in a pre-season game.

I think he’ll rotate. They need that. Just look how much time their D was on the field yesterday. Bush is out for the year and Gilbert is hurt so they were down to Marcus Allen on the inside.

Gonna be a tough task, given the Steelers schedule playing in the AFC North, vs the remainder of KC’s schedule. The Steelers will stumble twice inside the division...and that doesn’t count the normal loss to a bad team that is due to come. I think the Steelers go 6-3 the rest of way, and that’s if they stay healthy.

Good move. Spillane is nice but Williamson gives the Steelers much needed depth.

seems to me KC has the tougher row to hoe...have to play the division team that beat them on the road still and are not faced with gimmes from their NFC slate (NO and Tampa on the road) compared to Steelers (Dallas, Redskins )...

Putting the any given Sunday mantra aside, the Steelers only have 3 games left that they could lose: Colts, Bills, Ravens. The rest: Cowboys, Jaguars, Redskins, Brown, Bengals, Bengals. I don't seem them losing any of those 6, even if some injuries pop up. And I really like the Steelers chances against the Bills and Colts, win even one of those and 14-2 is a real possibility.

I've been saying it. With Prescott getting hurt, the Steelers only have tough games against Baltimore and maybe the Bills. and I'm not sold on the Bills being good.

There aren't any good teams this year after KC. The Steelers are comfortably the second best team in the NFL.

I’m shocked that you guys overlook losing in one of the easy games. The steeler track record over the past 12 years is to lose one of those games. And in addition to that, I don’t think Cleveland or Cincy wins are a given. I’m saying 13-3. Hope to be wrong though.

SIAP, but the last time that the Steelers got a veteran linebacker from the Jets, it was James Farrior - and we all know how that turned-out.

To go from the horrid Jets to the contending Steelers is the football equivalent of hitting the Powerball. Talk about an adrenaline rush...!

IMHO, the only weakness that the Steelers have is the lack of a proven back-up at QB. If Ben goes down, the silence in Western PA would be deafening.

Going to legit teams has that effect. Look at Ebron.

Cleveland isnt a gimme and cincy just beat the titans. The rookie qb is going to be good. If they move a bunch of guys this week they might become a easy win but right now they aren't

Some of you geniuses are forgetting the annual Tomlin Special.

The only question is, who will it be against?

Dallas? Jacksonville?

Every Steelers fan should know its coming.

By "Tomlin Special" do you mean "Game almost every team loses to team they should beat?"

Yinz guys are acting like this is something unique to the Steelers and not a reflection of NFL games being hard to win.

No team has ever gone undefeated in my lifetime. Of course they are going to lose. KC lost to LV. It happens to everyone.

I like the move. It's a not splash, just fills a need and they give up virtually nothing in the process.

Well....New England went 16-0 not too long ago, granted they lost in the Super Bowl. I am not expecting the Steelers to go 16-0, but I expect any losses to come form the Colts, Bills or Ravens. The Colts might qualify as 'losing a game they should win' to some given the records, but the Colts have a solid D and HOF QB. That combo worked for the Steelers against the Ravens. Rivers blows plenty of games, he steals some too.

Tomlin has lost plenty of games as a big favorite, but as noted above, happens to every team in the NFL. They are all pros. But Tomlin does this more often when his own team is average to slightly above average. But when Tomlin has clearly superior teams, the 'what the heck' games don't happen much. He does have three 12-4 seasons and a 13-3 season on his resume. I think 14-2 is quite possible this year.

Considering that the Steelers didn't have a fifth-round pick in 2020, that ranks as an all-time steal!
