Steelers need to make a change

Ben can't do anything. Take him out and let him rest another week until Dallas. Landry Jones would be a better option right now unfortunately.

If they had a halfway decent backup QB they would have won yesterday. Ben was clearly struggling, even given the comeback attempt. Take away the terrible uncovered blocked punt and another Coates TD drop and that would have been a much different game.

Ravens are slowly rounding into a very good team again.

Simply put, the Steelers aren't who we thought they are. The Ravens have a good defense, but their offense is so putrid (hence why our D looked okay besides the long Wallace TD which we all knew was going to happen) I think it'd be ridiculous for them to win the division.

Ever since that 6 TD game from Ben the Steelers have played like complete trash against them.

Tomlin has to go. The steelers are the Wild West right now. Oh Martavis Bryant you're suspended again? Don't worry, you have a job when you come back.

He won't lay down the law and the players know it. They can do whatever they want. He's too worried about being everyone's buddy, grow some balls and be a coach.

I'm pretty down on Tomlin, but if I can get Bryant back on the field next year, I want him back.

True. My only point is when you have him and bell, multiple guys get in trouble multiple times... they clearly are just not afraid of the consequences. They know they can do whatever, and get no more than a slap on the wrist from the team.

Far different than the overreaction to santonio Holmes and others. Now all of a sudden, everyone gets 5 or 6 chances. Not to mention all the stars on defense he inherited that have retired, he's replaced none of them.

I wouldn't have gotten rid of Holmes either, he was in the last year of his contract, letting him play it out and leave is probably worth more than whatever we got from that 5th round pick we got for him. And clearly, he's done a horrible job replacing the defense.

Exactly. I thought getting rid of Holmes was a joke. Totally agree with your post here. Not saying I would or wouldn't get rid of Bryant, but they go from getting rid of a super bowl MVP that was wrongly pulled over by a cop, to babying a guy that's been suspended more than he's played. Bottom line, Tomlin needs to instill much more discipline amongst this group.

The Ravens block a Steelers punt, the cameras pan the Steelers sideline and Tomlin has his arms crossed, the usual blank stare, not saying a word to anyone coach or player.
Tomlins halftime adjustments were great!
The Steelers players need a talent upgrade ok I get that but they seem totally disengaged with eachother, and the Steelers coaching staff. Tomlin doesn't bring the team together or creat team spirit with his disengaged mannerisms!
Haley appears to be getting ready to try out for an episode of "survivor."
It time for just "putting in the time" collect the check, the season ends, we all go home with lots of coin in the pockets!
The NFL is turning into a pro sports welfare program at the expense of the fans!

You both would be wrong.

Do you know what the Steelers eventually got for that 3/4th of a year of Santonio?

They turned around and sent the pick to Arizona for Bryant Mcfadden and a 6th round pick

Why can't the Steelers recruit as well as the Patriots or Ravens??? Until recruiting picks up expect much more games like this folks

Did you want him to run around all crazy-like ala Narduzzi? Maybe have a 4th quarter jump-around that does nothing but lead to lousy 4th quarters...

Oline taken a step back lately.

DeCastro got his money and is playing soft. Pouncey has always been overrated by the fans and media and he, too, has his big contract. I liked it better with Cody Wallace at center. There was an attitude on the line with him starting. That cheap shot he landed on the Broncos defender last regular season was a thing of beauty and took Denver off its game. The Steelers have none of that nastiness right now.

Is Munchak going to get this unit playing to its potential, or am I going to have to also hear how great he is? Just give us results. Dallas has a heavily invested O-line and they are dominating. I expected that this season and the unit has come up woefully short.

That is pretty significant because the next failed test and he is done in the NFL. He has let down his team and the city with his drug problem.

Your post not related to me because I don't have an opinion. I just posted that he's liked in the locker room. Thanks for the update on his next failed drug test though.

I'd like him to react in some way. Maybe talk to the special teams coach, or a player who missed a block, etc.
So yes I'd prefer anything other than his cross armed, blank stare, clueless look!
fyi - this is a football game not a badminton match
A hat throw , headphone toss, a loud WTF are you doing etc was in order for sure.
Tomlins lack of engagement rubs off on the team.
But this is what you get when you hire a coach not yet ready for a prime time HC job.
It appears that the Rooneys are happy with mediocore performance so this is what we'll get for years to come.

"Tomlins lack of engagement rubs off on the team."...same thing with Belechick also...That Chuck Noll fella was another sideline rah, rah maniac...

The players are supposed to be grown men. How do you want Tomlin to stop Martavis Bryant from smoking weed in the offseason. This isn't high school. He can't be looking over their shoulder 24/7. LaVeon Bell saying they aren't focused at practice is a joke. He is the one not focused he missed 7 games the last 2 years for smoking weed. Do you want Tomlin to suspend these guys? The league did it for him.

What is more of a consequence than losing your paycheck when your suspended ? The league by agreement with the Players Assoc Union specifically determines the appropriate penalty the teams can levy. Do you want the Steelers to release these 2 players.

At a certain point, yeah. They let santonio Holmes go, he was gonna miss 4 games. Now they have a guy they're lucky they see 4 times every 2 years.

Plus when more than one guy is getting in trouble, usually the coach has to take responsibility. It's his team and they're as undisciplined on the field as they are off it.

Cant comment on Noll but Belecik is very engaged with other coaches, and players.
He sifts thru his 8 pages of notes and plays calls coaches and players over to discuss things. When a player makes a "bonehead" play he calls the player over for an old school discussion. What a Patriot game once in a while!
Compare that to Tomlin who stands in a small area arms crossed, head down, with blank stare.

When your starter has a 100 mil contract your depth suffers badly ask the Ravens. Brady has always given the Pats a team friendly deal he makes considerably less than Ben.
