Steelers on the clock @ 66! Who will it be?

Maybe they draft the CB from Michigan State and hope Winovich falls to them at their next third round pick?

I love the pick from Toledo -- his tape "sizzles"! And you're right, Winovich COULD still be there.
If we get either of the two I mentioned, I’ll like it. My buddy said the WR from Toledo was named by Kiper as the best route runner in the draft.

We’re money at drafting receivers (Limas Sweed says hello) so I trust them. Solid draft so far I’d say.

Not sure im digging the pick of the little MAC dude at 66, but "we'll see" I guess, in context with what picks are to come. Needed a viable Corner or even a TE before this IMO. But everyone seems to have Tyriq Hill-itus and want their own mighty mite

The problem is that a ton of corners got picked in the second round, so they may not have had a guy left available that they had rated that highly.

And there is no way that the Stillers needed a tight end before a wide receiver. The Stillers already have a good tight end. They are looking for a backup tight end, preferably one who can block. Guys like that aren't worth a whole lot in the draft.

Looks even worse with Winovich going to NE. Whiff.

We'll def go CB now that Winovich is gone.

Drafted the CB from Michigan State. I guess they knew they could draft the WR from Toledo and still get him at 83. I like it.

The CB pick salvages the round. :D

Didn't think all that much of Winovich so not too bummed by that. Though where he went may make me rethink.

Oh well. The only real remaining interest for me for the draft is to see if/ where Ollison or Hall go. And which Nit the Steelers get, they always go for at least one.

The Toledo WR was a reach. Guys like him are all over the place in later rounds.

The MSU corner sounds to be a project.

It's what happens when you sell out for Bush. I would prefer they dropped down and added a 2nd round pick, grabbed a better corner, better receiver, Winovich, and someone else. Instead we got Bush, a reach at WR, a project CB and lost a 3rd rounder next year.

I don’t think it was a reach
He’s got plenty of wiggle .

All cb are projects with few exceptions -
They added free agents -
These are developing dudes behind them

Chase will be swallowed up by most OL at this level, imo...may even shave his head to be less noticeable. Nice motor but not sure about inside fighting with these big cats in the league. He's not Kevin Greene folks.

I see a punt return guy and a receiver with 49 catches last year who had a problem with drops. It's not like Toledo plays a plodding Pitt style offense.

Its Tyriq Hill Syndrome. Everyone wants their little game breaker dude now. Who was it that traded up for take the UMass guy a few picks ahead of that? Similar. Wary to see the Steelers engaged in the NFL version of #metoo rather than setting the trend. But hopefully he actually delivers in some way, at least better than that guy from Florida they wasted the #2 on a few years back.

Yeah
I don’t see the fixation on him.
His production his senior year regressed to his soph year.
If he wasn’t a local kid would anyone clamor for him?

This kid looks like AB, minus the drama hopefully.

Every team in the league liked this guy. The Steelers didn't pick him because he was trendy. They picked him because of his talent. By the way that little white guy from UMass led the entire country in receiving last year.

Yeah, I hear ya, but I don't think they are as money as we all like to believe.

The jury is out on James Washington from last year at #2. Of course Shuster at #2 in 2017 is a hit.

But before that, Ayers in 2016, nope, Coates in 2015, nope, Bryant in 2014, nope, Wheaton in 2013, nope, Brown in 2013, nope, Clemons in 2012, nope. You have to go back to 2010 when they got Sanders at #3 and Antonio Brown in the sixth round.

They need a replacement for Dupree. Chase is the anti-Dupree, shows up every snap. I think Chase will be better making the switch to OLB rather than playing DE. New England will do a lot of different stuff with him.

Why would anyone expect Kevin Greene with a 3rd round pick? I'm comparing him to the WR they took.

Bryant was a hit.
That he flamed out doesn’t change his production.

You don’t have to produce for a decade to be a hit.
3 years justifies any pick.

I said "meh" then and I'm sticking with it.

And I suggest not fixating on race.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh on Bryant. Two seasons with 50 catches is pretty darn good. But He flamed out spectacularly and I guess that is why I was so harsh.

Yeah Bryant was a great 5th round pick. Unfortunately, he couldn’t keep his head on straight.

The Steelers over the last 25-30 years are the best 2nd day drafting team in the NFL. Think of the great players they have landed in the 2nd round and beyond, going all the way back to Chad Brown and Levon Kirkland when Cowher first arrived. Add guys like Bell, AB, Hines Ward, JuJu, Jason Gildon, Ike Taylor, etc.

The UMass guy has star potential in the right system. Slot receiver abilities with absolutely blazing speed. Showed he could play against the highest level of competition.

Saw some blue check mark guy on twitter said that the MSU corner was the steal of the draft.

Not that blue check marks mean much...I never heard of the guy...but I’m rolling with it because I like what he said. Haha.

Found it.

I didn't like Diontae Johnson...until I watched his tape. Electric footwork. Can beat the press. Nightmare in the open field. Excels on punt returns. Went for 6/120/2 against Miami in 2018. He's the type of guy who will really thrive playing in a professional system.
