?. My revisionist history remembers a lot of folks on this board bitching because he was too slow and playing way too much. Seems the coaches played him more than a lot of you wanted.I wish him well and appreciate his efforts as a Panther.
But if he makes the team ... man, there are a number of Pitt coaches that should leave the business then, because they didn't serve him well here!
I always thought he was a pretty solid MLB. not great, but solid. he seemed to know the defense, the right calls and smart enough to line people up (according to Duzzer), a skill that doesn't resonate too well for fans but is a Godsend for the coaches..
Hope he makes it, and as a steeler fan, I hope we don't need him to ever start for us. Would love to see him as a reserve though, maybe compete with that other white Italian dude we have now, forget his name..
well said.. the play of a mlb (and OLB) can be so misleading from a fan's perspective.. the play up front can really effect, either way, what we see as great or poor play. you got a big hoss in the middle, taking two OL up and it frees up the linebackers, it's amazing how "quick" a linebacker can look when there isn't a 310 lb guard in his way. on the flip side, you get poor DT play, well that LB looks real slow getting sideline to sideline all of a sudden..He certainly didn't under perform given his overall speed and reaction time for a starting middle LBr at this level.. He was a decent recruit (nothing special), and apparently made up for his deficiencies with his on field smarts and work ethic. Personally, I feel he's a bit slow, but the Steelers obviously see something in him. I wish him the best.
Now there is an endorsement...If my memory serves me right, Narduzzi called him a genius in one of his press conferences.
signing a contract to practice does nothing to dispel that at the current time....?. My revisionist history remembers a lot of folks on this board bitching because he was too slow and playing way too much. Seems the coaches played him more than a lot of you wanted.
