Damn did that feel good but it was not without it's peaks and valleys:
1. Gotta love the way this defense just plays so damn fast. Plays with instinct and attacks the pocket. Just gotta lot love that. That VT qb gotta be hurting today. He took a beating. As Al Davis used to say "The qb must go down and go down hard"
2. I think in his fourth game and Coach Duzz already has a bigger win than Coach Chryst had in three years. Road win against VT.
3. Still question some of the offensive play calling but can't too much after that second half adjustment. You knew that the Hokies were stacking the line and walking up safeties so instead of attacking the middle, you go jumbo and run on the edge with 31 leading you. no safety help, and you score in two plays running the same play. Really good coaching.
4. We can rag about conservative play calling but we did hit a beautiful play action to Orndoff and did go for it on fourth down and had Tyler not had his one WTF drop of the season we aren't sweating as I was and yelling "We know how this is going to end!" Yes i was that worried.
5. Kinda called it on the interior of the line being unmovable but frankly I was wrong about the edge rushers and the LB's. Price and Blair played great especially Price who refused to be blocked and all the LB's played superbly. Underrated with the LB is how good a blitzer Galambos is.
6. Ok i can excuse the refs on what I thought was a missed out of bounds catch, understand it's hard to over turn but how many blatant holding calls are they NOT going to call? Sheesh.
7. What's going on with Chris James? Trying to pop everything outside and really not running with any confidence. We are going need him and the rest of offense to do something cause you can't expect the D to do this every game.
8. Weah doesn't seem very instinctual. I know he's got speed though i haven't seen that separation yet but on his long pass down the sideline, he jumps too early if he just keeps his stride that ball lands in his hands. To me that's a lack of hand eye coordination. We really need to find another WR.
9. Can we stop with the Winslow Pooch attempts. He can't do them.
10. The Avonte Maddox int was such a smart play such a good read and so instinctual it should be a teaching point to young CB. Just a great play. Baited the QB into it
11. If it wasn't soggy I think Amara intercepts the one TD pass they had. Looked like he was way too ginger in coming over the top due to footing, if he breaks on a fast field he makes that intercept.
12. If anyone doesn't think UVA can beat us think again. Look at the scores around the country and see home favs losing all over the place. So hopefully nice day, nice crowd and high intensity is the recipe of the day.
13. Still up in the air on Peterman. Just am, need to see more. But he didn't turn the ball over and he made some nice passes to extend drives.
14. Penn State fans want to talk about the 107,000 or whatever but they better concentrate on how boring that team is and much they struggle to score. Franklin's testy press conference says it all. You don't schedule Army and expect to only be up by 6 with Army having the ball with a chance to win the game.
15. Is it me or has officiating gotten so much worse.
16. What's up with GT? Up 21-0 and you lose? WOW!
17. I know it's stupid, but here I am pacing in my living room at 54 years old during the entire game. Just crazy and how great is the mood when we win? Feels so great to be 3-1.
18. It's week 5 of the season can we not talk playoffs already? my goodness that's all the media does can we enjoy the season at least?
