Packers are the favorite to win it all on FanDuel.
Chiefs are the favorites on DraftKings.
They have the same odds on Bet MGM.

Everywhere I see in Vegas has the Chiefs as the favorite. The one thing all the books here seem to have in common is they need anybody but Tampa, which has been the case pretty much all season.

I’m surprised that the Chiefs are such a heavy opening favorite for the AFC Championship and beyond considering the uncertain status of Mahomes. I’d have to imagine he spends much of the week in concussion protocol.

If Mahomes plays next week, there is no concussion protocol.

He was so dizzy when he stood up that I thought his ankle buckled or something. That said, he was apparently petitioning to get back in yesterday. He'll play.

Also, for as wild of a "Covid season" as it's been, the final fours in both college and the pros have been pretty darn chalk. I mean, when the big underdogs are Notre Dame and the best quarterback of all time...

My point is that a concussion in post season isn’t a concussion. It’s a minor bruise despite his brain getting knocked out his skull.

I get what you're saying. I'm just saying that, even if there was any doubt, I think him chomping at the bit to play as early as yesterday sort of eliminates it. But the Steelers have had guys who have gotten concussions and played the next week during the regular season, so I guess it's also possible that it isn't a severe concussion (relative to other concussions, of course).

In high school and college non football and other pro sports a concussion takes a player out for quite awhile. We’ve had kids out a month. Yet pro football players get their heads bashed in every play and no issue playing so quickly. Brain science seems to get forgotten when it’s big money on the line. I saw the video and mahomes looked like he was knocked into last week. That didn’t look minor. Just makes you see what message it sends.
