Pitt's Revis made have gave up a TD, but a Super Bowl Win and 6 Pro Bowls might have given him the votes to put him in the Pro Hall of Fame where he will join Ty Law that had 3 Super Bowls and 5 All Pro Bowls. Both from Aliquippa High along with Ditka, as well as Dorsett from Hopewell Area. Giving Aliquippa 4 in Canton. One or two more Pro Bowls for Revis will seal it for sure.

Not yet. Darrelle likely needs 2 or 3 more good years. I have no doubt he will get them if healthy.

Do pro bowls matter? I don't pay much attention, especially with guys like Andy Dalton playing in the game. I would think All-Pro awards matter most. Only 2 cornerbacks per year get it for the entire NFL. There's a distinct difference obviously. Am I right here? How many of those does Revis have?

Revis is well respected within the industry and league that I think his chances if he would retire right now would be good. (Better than 50-50) I agree with the statement that about 2-3 more years of solid work should solidify it though. Keep in mind this was only his 8th year in the league and he lost that entire year with the ACL.

The fact that his career has been defined as a man-to-man specialist in a completely offensive pass happy league, and he completely shuts down players will be his legacy.

To answer the specifics, I just looked at Wikipedia. He is a 6 time Pro Bowler, and a 4 time First Team All Pro. Now, people might want to say that he only has 23 interceptions which puts over 250 people ahead of him. I don't know where to look for the advanced stats, but most games Revis has about 2 balls thrown his way and that is because QB's know they can't go there...

Re: Ratlink17 & Others Good Comments, HOFers Pro Bowl Link!

Below is a listing of NFL Hall Of Famers and there number of Pro Bowls! In my opinion, Revis is on the right Team and his reputation as a Shut Down Corner is the reason he would be considered just like Lynn Swann who played only 8 Years and had 3 Pro Bowls.

There are exceptions based on Sports Writers & Hall of Fame Voters! Revis is such a Dominant Shutdown Player and he continues to do it and joining the Patriots during their Super Bowl Era 2002-2014 will give him special consideration even if he can only p0lay another 4 years.

The College Football of Fame is now dealing with the same problem since many great players are only playing 2 years in college. The new standard developing is what those players are doing in the pros as well and how many awards, records, and honors they are earning.

I agree with the Posters all comments another 2 to 3 years at a high level with more Pro Bowls will solidify it!

Yet, when Revis name does come up in the future, he will be remembered for him being a Shutdown Corner and will not be shutout and may get in on his first year. It all depends on who is on those lists and how many still waiting. yet, the New England Players will one day rival Green Bay and the Steelers, the difference is they will be from multiple Teams since Belichick is known to change Rosters often.

Just a hunch!

I'll never forget his punt return against the hoopies !

Such an amazing play. Kinder's block to spring him was absurd as well.

4 time all-pro is a big deal. He's probably finished top 5 in Defensive Player Of The Year a few times as well. I think he gets into Canton.

Great play...too bad we couldn't forget the 2nd half to that game...

His injury and that little trip to TB knocked him off a sure fire HOF course....

Have no idea what he did this yr but he has some catching up to im....getting that ring helps

If he retires tomorrow, he is a Hall of Famer right now. Best in the game for many years. Sandy Koufax had what, five great years? But he was a game changer and completely dominant during those five years. Appropriate comparison...Revis is the best, and a game changer....

He is not Koufax
A pitcher who for his short prime was not only nearly unbeatable but nearly unhittable

He is good but let's keep it real

Fitz and Revis are absolute shoe-ins

Revis is recognized as the top CB of the past decade.

McCoy with a few more solid seasons would also be a serious candidate.
