on the ACCN on Wednesday their Huddle Show did a show on ACC recruitng and a look at most teams upcoming season. They mention that we had one of the highest totals of super seniors 13 returning to Pitt to take advantage of the free year accorded by the NCAA. That is the term applied to seniors who decide to return Which I think says a lot about the atmosphere the staff has created despite the annual five loss seasons. So by my count the list includes Pickett, AJ Davis, Mack, Tipton,Krull,Campbell,Pine,Adomitis,Petrishen, Camp, Wilson, Mathis and Zilinskas. And so far we have had minimal entrees into the transfer portal which will probably change after spring ball .Combine some veteran players and a promising set of newcomers to go along with a favorable - for once- ooc schedule and some winnable league games i can see a nine win season . Did I miss anyone .

I think we have that high of a number because many of them won't play ball again after college, or at least wouldn't if they had left this year. One last chance to make a name for yourself, make memories, or just get a free education makes pretty good sense to me. H2P

That's definitely true, but it isn't as though Wake Forest and Boston College and Virginia have a ton of guys meeting that description. I didn't realize how many we even had.

Does Kessman really have a pro chance?

And perhaps a few that didn't get 5th years due to playing a bit prior to the 4 game redshirt rule change. KP's extra year is the same as if he conserved a year of eligibility in 2017 and been a RS Sr.

If Kessman can increase his accuracy and be more consistent then absolutely. I don’t know how likely that is but he has a big leg so I can’t imagine scouts aren’t keeping an eye on him. In fact I’d bet some team will bring him in and see if they can work on him regardless with a leg as strong as his. Don’t know how many kickers make a practice squad but I can see him being on one for a year if it comes to that.

Bill Connelly discussed this the other day when talking about his returning production metrics. Basically damn near every team is experienced. It’s not going to be much of an edge this year.

Besides, inexperience wasn’t really the issue last season. It’s not like we were young. The problem is we returned the same low-ceiling players from the previous season. They weren’t going to become touch matchups just because they were a year older.

We desperately need some “inexperience” in the starting lineup and two deep. More Addisons are needed.

That's awfully interesting. I guess a lot of it is going to depend on where that production is- if a lot of those teams are in Conference USA and the Pac-12, for example, I feel great about that number...

When you think about it each year some players get invited to NFL camps but very few an NFL team. A lot of coaches call it the Not For Long league so they stress getting that diploma.

I don't know. at least maybe some of them will actually play hard the entire year instead of going limited 'nfl' shut down mode.
