It won't follow suit for women. They dont want it and dont need it. The rest of the world doesn't play women's soccer so the NCAA girls dont need to train 24/7 like the men. They can mess around from September-November then be a regular college student and go play in the NWSL without any competition from foreigners.Looks like NCAA Men’s Soccer is close to approving the two-semester model.
This is not being considered for Women’s Soccer at this time, but I would imagine it will follow suit in the near future.
As always, you can’t just state your opinion without finding a way to put down women’s sports. The D1 Women’s players that I know train and condition every bit as much as men’s players. In fact, most agree that this time of year is 10x harder than during the regular season. There are 3-4 6 a.m. workouts and training sessions per week along with multiple other team building and team culture activities.It won't follow suit for women. They dont want it and dont need it. Cool but there's a reason they unanimously don't want it. Its because they dont need it and want to be college kids. Its ten trillion times easier for a D1 woman to become a pro than a D1 man.
