I believe the list of schools that she would leave Pitt for is a very short one. She's home. And there isn't nearly as much poaching of coaches in womens basketball, at least from schools in the higher level conferences. My guess is that she is going to be here for a long, long time.

If you ask me, this is a no-brainer -- just as hiring Coach Suzie was a no-brainer.

But she sure has her work cut out for her in the upcoming season - only 4 players back who played last season (Potvin, Carey, Bugg, Diop) + 5 freshmen (Wise, Walters, Lamb, Bradley, Walsh) + 1 transfer (Gibbs from USC) + 2 players who sat out all of last season with injuries (Anderson, Gordon). And to top it off, the team will have no seniors on it. Yikes.

Course if anyone can mold this group into a team, it's Coach Suzie and her staff.

I have lived in State College for a long time. I would be VERY surprised if she left for PSU.
I have heard from a number of die hard Nitters that there was some kind of rift in her relationship
with the university and she has no interest in coaching there. I do not know what the problem is or was.

If you go to a women's game, there are a few rows full of McConnell-family members - from grandparents to little kids. With the large McConnell-Serio clan based in Pittsburgh, plus the good situation Suzie has at Pitt, there's just no reason for her to go anywhere else in this phase of her life.

Just a very fortunate situation for Pitt (for a change).
