5-2 and 2-1 in the Coastal. I think most of us would have signed up for that entering the season. A few thoughts...
  1. Big game from Kessman. Those were crucial field goals, with the first one being a 47-yard kick!
  2. Pickett is a tough, tough guy. He took some hits and continued to battle. 18/33 for 232 and 2 scores. There were at least 3 drops that I can remember that would have put him around 21/33 for 270 and maybe 3 scores. I know Matthews, Gragg and Griffin-Stewart all had drops, with the later being one that could have pretty much ended the game.
  3. Speaking of ending the game, boy we just can't put teams away. Again, if Griffin-Stewart makes that catch it's over. Of course, the 4th and 25 play. That one still bothers me.
  4. I'm not sure that I would have brought the entire house on Syracuse's 94 yard TD. I would have brought 5 with pressure up the middle but hats off to a really good throw by the backup QB.
  5. AJ Davis played really, really well. What a tough run to close out the game too.
  6. I thought Stocker was tremendous filing in for Ford in the first half. He's had a very nice season.
  7. Mack had a quiet game and we still pulled out a W; that's a good sign.
  8. I thought there might have been a little more opportunity to run on the edge, maybe use some misdirection. The running game was really good, just a nitpicking thought. The reason being is that Syracuse's DEs are really good but they were pinning their ears back for a pass rush constantly. They over-committed on the pass rush at times. Plus, Shockey looked fast and like he could have hit a chunk run.
It's never easy with Pitt but we're 5-2 with a BIG game against Miami next weekend. h2p
