Table scraps?

Well let's see if we can wrestle him away from Prairie View. 2.9 points/game at Jacksonville is nothing to scoff at. And if that doesn't get you salivating, how about 9% from three, baby?

I remember when I used to think Capel was going to bring in multiple 5-stars and turn this program around in a hurry. Now I'm curious if we're going to have to start dropping scholarships in the cups of panhandlers.

Yeah, it's starting to look like the bench on this past year's 11-21 team is going to look like the '92 Dream Team compared to what Capel has in store for us this year. I feel like pretty soon I'm going to read that we just offered a scholarship to a lamp.

I'm afraid you're right. The team we have coming back with the bench is the best we will offer next year, which isn't close to a P6 college team. It's laughable what is happening now with this Capel guy and his staff of misfits and losers. The sooner they are gone, the better.

I want Pitt to win, but I suspect Capel is doing so much damage that it will be almost impossible to recover from this for at least another few years. But you never know what will happen once he's gone.

Oh no, Here We Go....mid-major lottery ticket/BK/Beilein, etc....no money/lots of money for the buy out....HL doing a lousy job/HL doing a great job with one exception/HL building all sports at Pitt, tiddlywinks pavilion keeping her busy....Barnes'/Stallings'/Jamie's fault....gonna take years/only takes two seasons with the right guy....Capel's no quitter/Capel's given up......

Yeah, the fact that we even initiated contact worries me. You need fall back options, but that would be one precipitous fall.

And who is to say Cummings is even coming to Pitt? Did he sign a LOI? I don't trust Capel and I don't believe it when a player he recruits says he is coming here.

1985 says the exact same thing every time a player commits, either in football or basketball. It doesn’t matter if you explain how easy LOI’s are to get out of, it’s LOI or bust for him.

Well I deleted my post because I misunderstood his original post originally so my response was a bit off. However when a kid in the transfer portal says he’s going somewhere I don’t know that there’s any reason not to believe it.

The ‘23 commit is another matter. When Mintz committed I said at the time that I’d wait to be excited until he signs. So I bet it for down the road types.

While I would guess it happens I’d imagine it’s rare that a kid backs out on a transfer portal commitment. And maybe especially so for a kid who’s coming home.

Sorry if I'm suspicious or don't trust anything coming out of this basketball program. And it isn't for football. That's a lie.

You guys who keep giving Capel a pass if he even gets one marginal player to commit have no sense of what this program needs to return to respectability. He needs 4 or 5 players better than Cummings to commit very soon. Capel is a very poor coach and if he has any hope of getting his season record above 0.500, he needs some elite talent and a lot of it...guys who can pretty much get the ball rolled out to them and they play. Can anyone even say that Capel can coach at all?

Heather had better get creative and go way outside the box for the next hire. Because this next rebuild is going to take a special kind of madman to pull off. Go to the the lower thanks for young, energetic and aggressive guys who have built winners. Give whoever it is the budget to do what it takes to recruit real P6 players. Roll the dice. No tired old (defining that as over 50) major program guys who’ve been successful somewhere else and who will get to oakland and quickly wish they never took
the Pitt job.
