TCU vs Seton Hall thoughts

It's horrible. He'd be better of just living with the bald spot. Dude can coach though.

I’m not saying this to hate on Dixon because I’m thankful for what he did at Pitt, but just out of curiosity - I think this is his second ever win for him as a lower seeded team in the tournament? The other one being another 9-8 blowout thanks to the Spencer Dinwiddie-less Colorado Buffaloes.

This has always been an asinine argument, as in his entire tenure he played I think only maybe 5 or 6 total games against higher ranked teams.

But yeah, we should throw out his entire body of work based on that many games.

So many Pitt fans got what they deserve. It just pisses me off because it ruined a sport/team that was so much fun.

I’m very happy for Jamie, but Seton Hall played like a team that knew their coach was gone, and Willard’s comments after the game leave virtually no doubt.
Always a qualifier. SPencer Dinwiddie was out, the other team didn't care.

Man, do Pitt fans suck. Why the need to constantly trash one of the most successful coaches in school history?

Wahh. Drink your milk and go to bed, ya looney toon. Anyone that thinks 100 fans bitching, after yet another early NCAAT flameout, on the internet "pushed him out" is an undeniable moron, which you pretty much prove with every post.

Jamie Dixon‘s hair makes him look like he could have been a character on Sopranos.
It's a nice win for TCU. I like watching them play. Mike Miles is the kind of PG we used to have. The Big 12 looking tough, but the Big East looking pretty weak.

Not sure they have the athleticism inside to keep up with Arizona, but they play super hard and make you work for your points. Will be an interesting matchup.

What are you talking about you giant weirdo. I like Jamie as much as anyone (well, I guess not as much as you. Jamie should probably file some sort of restraining order against you).

Was just making a comment about Willards comments, which, if maybe you had one brain cell you might also agree were kind of strange.

it’s not an asterisk or a qualifier, or anything. Sorry I inserted myself in this thread and took something away from your fetish over Jamie.

Nope, always a qualifier. WIllard didn't care. Spencer dinwiddie hurt. Blah blah blah.

You are a psycho. I was like the president of the JIG fan club when Jamie was our coach, if you knew anything about anything, which you don’t. People who have been on this board waaaaay longer than you would be laughing right now if you are accusing me of not properly deifying Jamie lol.

I literally didn’t put a qualifier on anything, was just looking for a thread to talk about the Willard comments. I obviously picked the wrong one.

To get back on topic, those quotes were really, really strange.

He just won his second tourney game since 2011. And his last 5 years at Pitt were really not that fun. ... Or obviously not fun enough for the fans with checkbooks big enough to influence change.

Jamie was the best bb coach Pitt has ever had . He provided Pitt with 13 consecutive winning with only one season under .500 in conference play and one season with less than 20 wins (19) . At TCU he’s had 5 of 6 winning season and took them to the NCAAs for the first time in 20yrs , a NIT semi and 2 NCAAs tournaments in his 6 yrs there . Meanwhile Pitt has totally sucked since he’s left . Kevin Stallings and Jeff Capel have shown that Pitts not an easy place to win at . (and neither is TCU .) Who wouldn’t take what TCU and JD has done in that time frame over what Pitt has done Bad hair and NCAAs loses and all sure wish he was still our coach .

Assuming that was the case--sometimes you don't get what you think you are paying for--"Out of the frying pan into the fire."

The last six have been so much more fun, right?

TCU's first tournament win since 1987. He clearly did something right. Winning a tournament game at a historic cellar dweller means more no matter what the haters say.

TCU's basketball history is 100% irrelevant. If CMU or Carlow moved into a P6 league and hired a good coach, they would be in the NCAAT in a few years and winning games. I hate when I hear people bring up program history as a reason you can or cant win. Nobody cares what happened in the 70s and 80s. Dixon is a good coach and will get any team to the bubble whether its TCU or Point Park

Posting this over and over won’t make it true. There’s only like four coaches good enough to neutralize a lack of history/resources/facilities.

If Carlow moved to the ACC, Dixon would have them on the bubble eventually. And again, I am using an EXTREME example. Lets use a more realistic example. Lets say Marshall or James Madison or someone like that move to the ACC.....Dixon would have them on the bubble shortly. Now, lets add to that that these programs make a huge commitment to basketball and spend millions on facilities.....well its not hard to imagine a good coach getting those teams good. Because they sucked forever could not possibly be more irrelevant.

Dixon is a good coach and he's done ok at TCU but he doesn't get any extra points due to their poor basketball history

Jamie left because he didn’t want to coach in the ACC.

It’s not any more complicated than that.

This is not true at all. The ACC had nothing to do with it. I am 100% certain it was because he did not want to work with Barnes. This information comes from someone who knows Dixon very well.

You mean he didn’t leave because Pitt fans pushed him out?

Fans got in boosters ears. Boosters got in the AD’s ears. AD pushed out Dixon.

Seems incredibly simple to me. I know none of you want to admit your culpability so I’ll just keep reminding you.

So you're telling us that fans, boosters, and the AD weren't satisfied with going from a 1-seed in 2011, to an irrelevant program with a .500 record in conference play and 1 NCAA Tourney win in the next 5 years combined?

Gee, That's weird.

If Narduzzi goes .500 in conference play over the next 5 years, do you think he will still be here?

Not a chance.
It’s really not that hard to believe if he does really well in the non conference over that span. You could still stay in the 7-6 to 10-3 range which is right where we should be.

We all know it's hard to be a Pitt fan.

But the last 6 years have made me miss.

*Losing to Barry Gohen and Vanderbilt

*Losing to Dwayne Wade

*Losing to Kent State

*Scotty Reynolds and Butler say no more

*And the straw that broke the camels back Wisconsin.

Despite all the things that happened above I'd gladly take it instead of what we have today.

They weren’t irrelevant in 2016. They are now.

you’re another one getting what you deserve.

No, he won’t be. He also couldn’t hold Dixon’s jock strap when it comes to accomplishing things.
