TCU

Autobids should be a part
You win your championship you play in the dance .

That’s the opposite of charity .
It’s meritocracy
So you think Iona, Colgate, Ivy champs, Farliegh Dickinson, for example ( the list is large) are tournament quality teams?

While almost any bubble team that is left out is better than the teams listed above.

There's little merit in putting those teams in the tournament while other better teams go home!

That's called a charitable donation that's not even tax deductible?
They won in a terrible conference!

It's like when Mrs Buffett and I lived in Princeton in the early 80's and went to Princeton games.

Most of these kids from these minor league basketball but academic colleges could care less.
When Princeton played a non ivy team, were getting beat badly they would chant: " its alright its ok you'll be working for us one day,"
Their all going on to be doctors, lawyers, and investment bankers.

Put teams in the tourney who meet tournament standards. Who are better than the excluded bubble teams, who have a chance to do well, whose players, and fans actually care about watching their team play.

Lunardi now has Florida in at 17-14 and they lost to both TCU and Oklahoma. There are some truly "not very good teams" getting in this year. Maybe more than ever before.

But then one of those 11 or 12 seeds gets to the Elite 8 and many think this justifies it.
Which is insane to me when you hear Clemson in the first 4 out and NC State still not in. I get NC State had the worst OOC in the ENTIRE country, but going .500 in the ACC should supersede a solid win or two OOC when you're well under .500 in an inferior conference. The top 75% of the teams in the ACC this year are pretty dang solid.

It’s definitely a weak year. Maybe this year give a few more bids to the smaller conference teams

Some of these middling Power 5 Conference teams make it very uninspired and uninteresting

There are several small conference teams that had outstanding seasons and beat some of the higher level, major conference teams. A few of these smaller conferences deserve their first ever multi-bid season. They better get in!
