Temple

Rhule seems like a down to earth hard working type of guy. He may even be the type of guy that would enjoy the excitement generated with an in state rivalry game. He certainly went out and has worked his way up the coaching ladder the hard way. It may be refreshing to have a guy like that coaching up at Ole state instead of the egotistical nutbuckets who have been up there since 1966.

What could have been. The PSU and Memphis games were winnable, if only the Owls had managed to play two halves of football in those games instead of just one. On the other hand, the season opener against Army was flat out el stinko.

That would be manna from heaven IMHO.
mediocrity has taken root in central PA. This would super fertilize it.
I don't think Schiano is remotely mediocre, but that said it would be a dubious hire on psu's part. For a place that likes to brag about the amount of resources it has, one would think they could make a splash hire.
Not to mention, Schianos resume is kind of similar to Franklin's.

Rhule fits that bill also, and so far the Temple coaching line hasn't fared all that well.

As I saw it, one Temple Offensive Lineman make 3 Big Mistakes that cost that game by moving ahead of snap, clipping, and holding forcing 3rd to 1st Downs and TDs being called back. He was terrible at the one time!

Schiano is a decent coach, but he would recruit a helluva lot better than Franklin.
So, you are changing your mind now???? I did the same when i thought Franklin would be great at Penn State in 2014 when hired, then I saw his Sideline Coaching and clearly saw and agree with Smarter Posters on the Lair that said he was a Carnival Talker not a Coaching Walker?

We shall see how he does against OSU Today, Iowa, and MSU tomorrow, and next year and hope and pray Moorhead does not goes way?

Agree, I think PSU Old Main & Former FB Alumni with PSU Alumni Trustees Boosters will go back to a Penn State Alumnus. Or they will consider taking the Navy coach that runs the same system Moorhead is running now for continuity.
Possible Candidates:
Mike Munchak
Matt Rhule
Bobby Engram
Bob Shoop (Knows Current Players)
Sam Gash
Jay Paterno
Joe Moorhead (Better Than Franklin)
Jerry Sandusky (If He Wins Appeal
););)

Dion Dawkins (#66, left tackle), four-year starter and normally the most dependable offensive lineman. Moving up Mel Kiper's draft board in spite of an uncharacteristically horrible performance against Penn State (besides the gaffes you pointed out, he was also beaten on two sacks).

Franklin is a MUCH better coach than people on this board give him credit for.

He's struggling in recruiting. Its impossible to win big with borderline top 20 type classes.

Yeah, that was him #66, after that game should change it to #666! I swear it looked to em he was paid off the penalties were so obvious and numerous and killed off at least 3 Drives for TDS.

I know he just had a bad game, and just kidding, but boy did he cost his Team and Teammates a Win! Franklin should send him a gift for saving PSU the win!

I am going to do an Analysis how he has done against other Coaches to date, later. Including SEC & BIG TEN and compare it to Holgrosen and Narduzzi too. That way one can see what caliber of coaches he beat or almost beat or got blown away, not just the teams he beat and lost too? it far more better analysis when you beat Elite, great, and Very good coaches over just the Win Records?

Sure. If you have that kind of time. You might want to include tonight's game. Just sayin.
I plan to, and will include an analysis of the Narduzzi & Holgrosen too. I am curious the Coaches they beat and lost too. It a far better Comparison Analysis than just records and wins by Teams. This way we keep a ongoing tally and can see the caliber of coaches being beaten or winning and by how much.

I look forward to your insights on seeing those results too. Franklin is now 1-2 against Meyers.
