Thanks to Coach Jamie Dixon ...

In the handful of times I've had the occasion to speak with Coach Dixon, he has always conducted himself with humility and class, and maintained excellent eye contact.

Thank you Coach Dixon for your tenor here at the University of Pittsburgh, and the best era of basketball in history. You will be missed.

The only thing I loved more than Jamie was his hair. Im grateful for the fun ride. Thanks Coach! Best of luck.

Wasn't even Pitt's first choice and he still coached his balls off here for 13 years.

I'm very sad by Dixon leaving. Been watching Pitt basketball since the days of Buzz Ridl and everything that followed. This meltdown by folks without perspective is a sad thing to watch. Jamie was nothing but class, hope Pitt success continues.

Good man, good coach, and time for a change for all parties. Best of luck, Jamie...and thank you!

... for the unprecedented success and integrity you brought to the University of Pittsburgh Basketball program!
Thank you Jamie for the memories and for representing our fine institution with class and dignity! It's been a great ride and I'll never forget my 12 straight years attending the Big East Tourney watching your Pitt teams in the Garden!! Good luck returning to your alma mater!

Sad to see him go but a little mad too. I believed him when he said he wanted to stay here his whole career. That being said I appreciate all he did for the program and only wish him the best.

Well this hire ended up more wildly successful than any of us ever could have realized. Here he was coming in never being a head coach, handed the keys all he did was start his career as a top 5 winning coach and in the nation over his first 6-7 years, not one but TWO #1 seeds, an Elite 8, a stint on top of all the polls. At the same time doing it with class, dignity and integrity. Hell, Pitt has had more academic All Conference members over the past few years than Duke or Virginia.

So....yes, he deserves an all time applause, a standing ovation for his time here.

That being said, it was time for this marriage to end.

Well done coach. Good luck at TCU, we will root for you there.

Bump for support. He was classy, kind and passionate. TCU basketball is about to move up in the world.

Pitt, I'm not certain. But the cupboard isn't bare and I trust the new administration. The last coaching search looks to be a success, so I have faith in the new Chancellor and our new AD.

Agree...he is a total class act...and my west coast friends always admired PITT because of him...I wish him and his family all the best.

I will cherish his time at PITT, and root for TCU because of him.

Thank you, Jamie, for all you have done!

Hail to PITT!

Amen. Great guy, damn good coach, I wish nothing but the best for him. I hope he kills it at TCU, which will be very difficult to do, and I hope even more that it works out for Pitt. The truth is we have gone stagnant on the court and in recruiting since joining the ACC, so this is an opportunity to try to improve the program long term. Whatever the answer is to what has ailed us, Dixon didn't seem to have it. I think Barnes is a serious man and this will be a serious hire. I have always been a Dixon supporter and always will be, but I see an opportunity to do something big here.

^ Couldn't have said this better. I believe that this move will be good for all involved. I don't think that Pitt would have initiated this, but I have a feeling this will work out very well for Pitt, and Jamie, too. He seems like a great person, and I wish him only the best.

If the new head coach is as successful as JD was then Barnes will have made great hire. I wish Jamie all the best at TCU.

Thank you to Coach Dixon for everything he brought to the team and I wish him the best at TCU!

Was hoping he'd still around to pass Doc Carlson so I've have to quit chirping about ghosts. No Jamie Dixon floor at the Pete now.

Could not ask for a better representative of the school. End of an era, oversaw the best in Pitt hoops in 70 years. Here's hoping for him to have a stream of endless wins over the hoopies.

Jamie is a class act and was a fantastic HC. My family witnessed many great moments at the Pete and my kids enjoyed going to his youth camps. He was always an excellent representative for this University and a class act till the end. Best of luck in the future and thank for making this program what it is today!

Nothing but thanks and good luck to Jamie. Some great times over the past 13 years. First class guy and wish him the best. I just hope like so many others he doesn't get canned after 5 years for not winning enough at TCU. Tough place to win but they are getting a great coach and better person. Some big shoes to fill here.
