The #1 and #2 problems on this year's team...

..are the two guys who wear #1 and #2.

They're attitude sucks. The BB IQ sucks.

They have lots of natural ability, but they're squandering it by being selfish, stupid, and soft. The three killer S's.
They have great FT% though.

When they are the core of your team and they can't play defense and they turn the ball over like they do, they will be major problems, no doubt. When you count on them to lead the team and they can't, there is a problem.

Exactly whose responsibility is it to turn players a little rough around the edges into polished players in 2-3 years? Coaching staff? Maybe?
The fact that Dixon has had many players in the past who weren't soft, stupid, and selfish tends to make me think that A) it's the players themselves and B) it's the assistants.

Artis and Young have lots of natural ability. Jamie thought he could turn them into tough, smart players. He turned out to be wrong about that.

They're both Jerry McCulloghs in bigger frames. Ball hogs, turnover machines, and matadors on defense.

Talented players, but with poor attitudes.

I agree, but we are in a very difficult situation. If they transfer or go play in Europe then we are fighting BC for last place. Dixon has shown he is not a good recruiter, so u figure 2017 or 2018 will be the next time we have a legit chance to make the Big Dance. If they stay, then there needs to be changes made to the staff and there needs to be a severe attitude adjustment made.

Hmmm.... well for one thing I think I would take Jerry McCullough over James Robinson. Second... Jerry McCullough was out-of-control in part because of a coaching staff that had lost control (or didn't care). So... are you saying this coaching staff has lost control? If so... I think you know the only solution to this problem.

There are guys who hustle on this team, and guys who don't. The largest stick a coach has is PT and who starts. Jamie benched Young, didn't matter. I have played sports, and have seen guys who give it all, and guys who coast. Some have less ability but overcome that with effort. Some waste their ability through lack of effort. Not saying nothing falls on Jamie, but sometimes, a player is just not going to do what he needs to do. Cam, Luther, Maia, Wilson, Jones, Smith and J Rob all give effort like they care. They may not be good at times, but at least they seem to try. I don't think then it is a team wide problem, but MY and JA had a chance to step up and lead, and didn't. I put that solely on them. Leaders gotta lead, a coach can help channel that, but if that spark isn't there, then it isn't there.

Coach's hands are somewhat tied. He recruited these two (Young and Artis), has trusted them and they're not leading. For whatever reason, they're making poor decisions and are not focused. Benching them might only work if their replacements produce, which they haven't. I know Dixon recruited these players but sometimes players don't work out. Wasn't that long ago Young and Artis were considered our best and optimism was high.

Something was said that others only would keep to themselves...I tuned into the first away game and turned the channel the first glimpse of the matador defense...been here since 1972....

Wait but didn't Young and Artis look great against the cupcakes though??
THAT'S IT!!! PLAY MORE CUPCAKES!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Artis and young are the only acc caliber players on this team right now. Cam Johnson can get there because of his shooting ability and Damon Wilson has to improve a lot.

I dont know if they are the #1 and #2 problems but I hope they leave.

If I'm Dixon, I encourage them to move on and start 5 underclassmen next year in preparation for 2017-18 where Dixon will have to make the NCAAT to keep coaching here.

Time for the addition by subtraction model used by Huggy Bear when he ran off Eron Harris and Terry Henderson.

Nobody on this sorry excuse for a team has anywhere near the competitive fire and onions that Jerry Mac had. It wasn't his fault that he played on a team with no #2 option.

Harris ran off from WVU to a Final Four contender where he has been a key contributor. Worked out pretty well for him I'd say.

Spot on. These guys in no way, shape, or form lack talent. They are just unbelievably stupid and lazy. Young dribbles way too much too far away from the basket. Artis takes way, way, way too many ridiculously stupid shots. Add in the fact that they both do nothing at all on defense, and that's why this team is what it is.

Mark me down for Jerry McCullough to be resereceted. Can we bring back Eric Mobley too?

Some Chad Varga wouldn't hurt either
