Signing Day is in less than 6 months. If Capel doesn't have a very good class by that day, we may be looking for a new coach in March 2022

Again much to my dismay, Capel is getting 5 years here minimum. The stupid extension Lyke gave him last year all but locked that in. If Pitt makes no postseason tournaments the next 2 seasons he's most likely gone. If Pitt makes only the NIT it might buy Capel a 6th season only because Heather doesn't want to have that failure attached to her. Obv if Pitt makes the NCAA Tournament 1 or more of those seasons Capel will definitely be back for year 6.
Right now though the way things are looking for this program? I think there's a more than likely chance that Pitt misses the postseason again twice and Capel will be bought out. Just my opinion.

Waiting for him to somehow spin this into he's right and we're not as smart as him.
Lets say he goes 2-18 next season and his 2022 class is ranked towards the bottom of the ACC. Then what?
He needs 1 of 2 things to happen to get 22-23:
a) 5-15 or better
b) a good 2022 recruiting class
A bad class plus like 2-18 and I dont see how Heather can justify keeping him.
Still gets a 5th year. Narduzzi is close to being on the hot seat depending on how this upcoming season goes. Heather hired Capel. The buyout is too much because of that extension. I think sadly he pretty much gets 5 years no matter what unless he's arrested or something like that.
