5 teams seeded to go to Sweet 16.

This conference is very strong at the top.

It is stronger at the bottom too than people think

Math formulas like RPI tend to distort things. EVERY team from the SEC that got in is over seeded simply because they played Kentucky twice AND every other team that they played .. well they played Kentucky twice too.

Expect Kentucky be only SEC team to make it past 1st weekend...... is Georgia really a #10 ???? They will get killed by Michigan State

There is NO difference between Pitt, Georgia, LSU, Miami, etc................ They are teams that are slightly better than average.........

And just like every other year, that ain't gonna happen.....

there will be upsets all over the place, plenty of favorites will lose. Fans of one conference or another tend to have an inflated sense of teams from their favorite league, and they don't know jack $hit about the non-elite teams from other conferences.

That's the beauty of March Madness.

I would agree that the SEC is garbage. The bottom of the ACC did themselves no favors by losing some head-scratchers in the OOC.

Look at LSU (9-seed), they lost to Pomeroy's #210 Mizzou, #169 Miss St, and #142 Auburn twice. They also lost to Clemson and ODU in OOC. They finished with 22 wins and Pitt only 19.

The current configuration of the ACC lends itself nicely to having a few really highly rated teams and a bunch of dregs. The opposite is a Big East or B12 where everyone looks pretty close and all get semi-legit credit.
