Beginning of season I was a fully filled ball on, floating around high of hopes. While at first the UNC outcome sucked, during this week I just haven't been too concerned about the Pitt program, I didn't care to read any articles and barely came here to look what's going on. Which to me shows I am now a small lifeless, airless shriveled balloon floating down the alley ways of Pittsburgh hoping for anything at this time to give me a reason to fully not pop. Knowing simply there is only 2 things that can help is UNC playing well against Miami tonight or even winning, and/or Pitt pulling off a win this Saturday. The excitment has left, a lose this weekend even tho expected I feel will be the derailment with expecting another 2 loses at least this year leaving us again at a 7 win season before a bowl game. Which that outcome would be another disapoitment. Time to start being more realistic at the beginning of the season and just expect 6-6 outcomes regardless of what the program shows us. We can be #1 in preseason polls and I think still would pick the team for 6-6.

Yeah......... after 35 years. It sure would be nice if alll the talking heads would be talking about Pitt being in the thick of things in today’s college football. Like they are doing with Ped st and others

Well apparently mens fashion is a more popular topic than pitt football , so your not alone in your thinking.
Narduzzi does give us nothing to talk, or more sadly get excited about.

I would be stunned if this team gets to a bowl

Do you want them to?

Me, I don’t. If the team sucks and the coaching sucks, I want it on full display for fans and administration to see. I don’t want some false result to get people thinking, a few plays here or there and it coulda been an 8 win season. This team blows and the coaching and recruiting is disturbingly bad. These guys look like the hoops team at the end of the Dixon era. Let’s get Stallings like results so we can hopefully make a Capel like turn for the better with a new coach.

Sorry its hit you brother. But it almost seems like Pitt thinks they're still Clemson and game planning for when they play ohio st or bama in the final four instead of north carolina. Pitt only has 8 conf games in probably the weakest P5 division. The focus should be there first with recruiting, coaching hires, scheduling. Its how Ben Howland did it.

Like dixon’s last team that couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn in an NCAA Tournmanent game? Granted that was awful, but man we are really giving too much credit to this year’s football team on this board. This is infinitely worse than that, not even comparable. First consider how much harder it is to even limp into the tournament than it is to get into some participation trophy bowl game.

Of all the meltdowns over the years on this board this is the one time this place really should be fully in that mode. Going back to when Walt took over in ‘97, the Carolina loss Saturday is one of the top 5 worst losses, that team was as big of a disaster as you’ll find. And sadly it looks this program is only gonna get worse from here.

Yeah, I definitely want them to. I will still watch every game and I want Pitt to win. At the present moment, I don't really have any faith in them winning more than 1 or 2 more games.

You should see if Tom Brady is hiring.

It's so sadly comparable to the Pirates. People seem to have the mistaken notion that the worse we stink that in some paneled office the guys in suits will feel such personal rage that they'll pound on the mahogany desk and declare, that's IT, now we're finally gonna get SERIOUS.

Experience with both has shown nothing of the sort happens.

Hoping for the bottom to fall totally out is not an assurance of a rapid heavy commitment. No matter how it looked with the Stallings situation. Different animal there.

It would more likely assure even less commitment.

Spot on. Pitt and the Pirates are really the same, except Pitt is their bitch when it comes to scheduling. The Pirates invest just enough to convince the diehards that they are trying so the fans keep forking over dollars for tickets. They add in some promotional things like fireworks nights, and take the profit for themselves. In Pitt's case, it's the same except the profit goes to other sports.

People tend to discuss relevant topics. Sadly Pitt is about as relevant as the Whig party - great for historical banter but not much to speak of in terms current events.
