Gattis Tweet

Does anyone know what the Gattis tweet, where he accuses Pitt coaches of lying, etc about recruiting, is all about?

Re: Gattis Tweet

Its all about people associated with penn state acting like delusional cry babies....again.

Its their only tool in the toolbox....act "better than" while being "worse than" in every respect...

I refuse to waste any time thinking about it...the school is beyond hypocritical....

Totally agree with this. But right now...they won. If I am a Pitt coach, I am plotting my next move as a revenge.

THE West Virginia University Mountaineers. Desperate to be relative in Pennsylvania, they are now going to fall even more behind here in interest and perception wise and the in state schools escalate their battles.

By the way, speaking of, how about WVU getting their recruits from a High School who basically is giving out diplomas? From the school who brought you the artificial MBA..........just frigging priceless.

WVU was never relevant in Western PA. They beat us for a handful of kids over the years and really only got the players that Pitt and PSU didn't offer.

With no in-state talent and getting very little from within a 2 hour drive of campus, WVU probably does the best job of any program out there in recruiting outside of that 2 hour window from campus. They continually get really good players from all over.

Just in case any of you are wondering about what he is talking about

Check out this story from November.

WVU/Miramar

WVU recruiting class ranked between #32 and #35 by the services. Two West Virginia kids.

Wasn't the coach at wv mad because some of the players were spending too much time in class? And, he said this publicly!

This might explain why Ollie bailed-out from WVU.

I wonder what WVU's president had to say about this matter? He's a damage-control expert and no stranger to controversy.

Pitt had a surprisingly good recruiting class, considering the

coaching change. I'm always impressed with the loyalty western PA recruits show to Pitt, despite the lack of achievement over the last couple of decades, and I don't mean that as an insult. I think it shows recruits look beyond football alone.

WVU just pulled-in what was arguably, the best group of recruits in the history of the program. I'm sure they hope they can continue to lose like that.

Anyone else wish we were not going to play The Cult in two years ?

One of the best rivalries in college football was stopped because of one old bitter delusional man because they let him ruin it. Just like they let him cover the rape of young boys. Now James from Jonestown is administering the kool aid to The Cult and they are acting like nothing ever happened and they did nothing wrong. If a Pitt coach ever allowed the rape of young boys and covered it up, I would never attend another Pitt game. But the absolute truth is that the PATERNO SCANDAL COULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED AT ANY OTHER SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY. I was very disappointed that we renewed this series and think it is just giving credence to James of Jonestown.

Re: Anyone else wish we were not going to play The Cult in two years ?

I hear what you're saying but I think we need these games to get the juices flowing and fans and players fired up. It's what rivalries are about.

I'm ecstatic that we have them back on the schedule. It gives us a big game to look forward to, to enhance our focus, our sense of urgency, and to sell to recruits. We don't have the brawl anymore and playing ND once and a while is great, but it's PITT versus Penn State....It doesn't get much better. All the recent developments up there will make victory all the sweeter.

Re: Anyone else wish we were not going to play The Cult in two years ?

Can't wait to play them.

Re: Anyone else wish we were not going to play The Cult in two years ?

I'd rather not play them...prefer to have nothing to do with them...nothing. It's bad enough living in the same state.

Re: Anyone else wish we were not going to play The Cult in two years ?

After the child rape and lack of institutional control.... Never, I want them to burn in hell just as paturdo is doing now.

IH8PSU and can't wait to piss on his grave.

Re: Gattis Tweet (for post above)

He basically said that Pitt is paying for the negative recruiting. They shouldn't throw stones to awaken the sleeping giant. It was laughable considering the negative recruiting they have done.

Again, my point here, hiring Gibson, then Bradley. Getting the Shell transfer and then getting Dravon Henry (who was big loss for Pitt), WVU really thought it was going to make headway in the WPIAL. They got in Whitehead's ear.

But bringing Narduzzi here, and having an aggressive staff willing to take on the big boy in state, causing them to react, well it is GAME ON.

WVU has again become an afterthought here. Not saying WVU will be killed because of it, because they go into Florida and the south and get kids who couldn't get in to JuCos, I mean get good players who are under the radar in a lot of cases, but I think them getting the Henry's and Worley's from PA is now going to stop.

looking forward to the State College bad boys rolling into town

In 2 yrs

Grandpa had agood idea back the 80s but circumstances doomed it
Perhaps had he ben a lttle better liked instead of a well known weasel he could have pulled it off. But Pitt was not solely responsible as has been clearly shown.

Yet that vindictive egomaniac lied and obfuscated till the end. and joetown believed it

Ending a great annual game and imo also blocked pitt from entering the B1G

dclions, you people spend so much time trying to get OldPa's wins

back instead of going after the monsters who put you in this position. If I found out Johnny Majors was covering up a scandal involving Joe Avezzano (offensive coordinator on that team) I wouldn't worry if the national title stood or Majors wins being restored. I'd worry about Avezzano, Majors and anyone associated with the scandal being wiped out of our record books so we don't have to be associated with them. That's what the rest of the country sees, you guys care more about the football program's statistics than the crimes that were committed.

Re: Just in case any of you are wondering about what he is talking about

interesting read.

The Hillbillies are basically oblivious to scandal.
The NCAA has shown it can't police anything.
They have zero academic standards.
No behavior guidelines.

The only reason they aren't on some kid of probation or sanctions is no one really cares about them.

WVU again "out-recruited" all the Florida big boy schools for 2 Miramar HS studs, that is if you want to call what they do at Miramar HS "recruiting." I'm not sure what I call it but that place continues to be a pipeline to Morgantown. It appears that Damon Cogdell, their former coach and current WVU assistant was running a criminal program at Miramar but all that got him was a promotion to WVU.

Slightly off-topic, I listened to Paul Zeise in a Wisconsin blog interview and when talking about his son's recruitment, he spoke of how his son visited WVU (but didnt mention them by name) 4 or 5 times and they never once talked about academics. He said academics was a big part of what Chryst was selling at Pitt.

Re: Just in case any of you are wondering about what he is talking about

I still wish Pitt played WVU as well. I feel both Pitt, being a urban school that struggles to draw large crowds due to being urban, and WVU, being a poor state with a foul fan rep, have a healthy chip on their shoulder as football programs. PSU annoys me because they're tOSU light. Smug, grand and, if we're to believe the more zealous fans of theirs, one of the best programs in the country.
