even being out on the field. I don't blame the kid, if he isn't any good there isn't anything he can do about it

He has yet to make a play this year. Constantly out of position and struggles to make tackles but I do agree with you, it is the coaches that trot him out there every week.

He's better than Mitchell. Stocker must be real bad or really has a problem picking up the defense because I'm shocked nobosy is better than Webb/Mitchell.

I guess I say the same thing about the CB's....HOW can they not have better than Maddox/Lewis. I guess ty Chryst and Fraud.

He's on the field because there simply isn't a better option. It's not complicated. It sucks, but it's just not complicated.

Mitchell is better than Webb.

Maybe Mitchell isn't all the way back from his injury last year......I don't know they don't have a lot of options

I was at the Military bowl last year ans Mitchell was their best DB in that game including Whitehead. His injury has slowed him and he is not fully recovered but he is still better than Webb. I also think that Duzz does not want to burn red shirts. Webb has been terrible since he stepped foot on campus.

We can agree to disagree. He's even slower than Webb and that's hard to achieve. Also, the coaches agree with me.

You gotta burn RS when it's needed. It's needed at WR, so Ffrench and Mathews had theirs burnt. The DB's are a dumpster fire. If Hamlin can play the final 6 games, hell yes you burn his RS no questions asked. Garner...if he practices as good as they say should be playing.

I agree that saving red shirts is a waste of time. Look at the number of positions the will be manned with inexperienced players next year because sub par seniors are manning those positions this year. As for the Webb/Mitchell debate, Mitchell may be slower than Webb but his football IQ and positioning are better than any other DB on the team. If he did not miss so much practice this summer, he would be starting. Webb has no clue where to be or what his assignments are. Look at 50 to 60 % of the long passes and he will be the player out of position or reading the play wrong or just plain getting beat. Without Whitehead, that is magnified. Enjoyed the debate.

Oh....so you think the coaches are ho

Oh....so you think the coaches are holding back DB's with better skill sets....give me a break. Why are the coaches to blame?????

Listen....if it's me, Ford starts the second he steps into campus. I was really disappointed Hamlin didn't play yesterday. Assuming Pitt can pull off a miracle and convince Wade to sign, he starts in place of Maddox too. I don't care that Maddox will be a senior, Wade is flat out better in every conceivable way.

Agree 1000%.
People who think Maddox will start based upon him being a sr are nuts. Wade is going to enroll early, so he'll know the defense come spring. You're going to see a 2-deep secondary that is 90% rs and true freshmen.

Hamlin, Wade, Coleman, Miller, Maddox at cb
Whitehead, Ford, Garner, Campbell at Safety.

I hope Motley, Briggs, Henderson and Jackson really embrace the idea of special teams...because their window of PT is gone.

I absolutely don't believe in worrying about redshirts at this point in a season. Now, maybe if you're at game ten and it's maybe a bit pointless - let's talk about it. But for really good players like Whitehead and a guy that's supposed to be as good as Hamlin you're not guaranteed anything past their junior year. If you need them and they're good enough play them. It's on the staff to go out and find a player as good or better to fill the hole they leave when they leave.

That said, if you're going to burn it - then play the hell out of them. I still want to vomit every time I think of Dickerson's parents crying to Wanny about his promise to let Dorin play as a freshman and then him scoring a garbage TD against Toledo I think and then we didn't hear from him again that year.

Narduzzi needs to bring in a Damar Hamlin EVERY YEAR. The fact that you have to use him this year should not affect his future. Only people that should rs guaranteed imo are Linemen who probably need more S&C and QB's.

I don't know if anyone noticed, especially those that carry water, even when they shouldn't, recruiting is Sleepy Wisconsin like, and that won't have us any better of a few years from now. Reality, good or bad
