that basketball requires ball movement and player movement, this is an experienced staff. This offense is unpleasant to watch. Some on this board complained about Dixon's efficient, assist filled, but slow paced offense . This offense with the dribble handoffs and passing around the perimeter is a choice of a style that fits the personnel. There may have been five or six possessions tonight when a Pitt player penetrated into the key, Femi on a few, Horton once and Jefress of all people once. On every other possession I can remember VT had a guy immediately in front of the Pitt player.
My opinion is that the talent dictates the style of play and Pitt had not a single mismatch in its favor with the exception of Mo being able to shoot over his man, but he fumbled the ball trying to do anything else. The game plan is designed for the talent, turnovers are down but that is the only positive. So do I want to see more 3 on 1 fast breaks messed up or this pointless ( pun intended ) offense.
