Knowing that every game is different so that there probably is usually no worthwhile lesson to be learned from comparative scores--

Nevertheless, and solely for the fun of it, and because it is too early in the season to have more data--

(1) Pitt beat UT-Martin 80-58 and Youngstown St beat UT-Martin 90-72. These are similar results.

(2) Youngstown St only lost to Notre Dame today 81-88 in a competitive game.

Perhaps this suggests we can or will be competitive vs Notre Dame and some other ACC opponents--especially when Hugley is back and fully healthy?

Just searching for some optimism after the West Virginia game. :)

I don't think you are wrong. Foul trouble had alot to do with things unraveling against WVU. We need Nelly to stay on the floor and big John back and this team can be in most games against ACC opponents.

We can compete with just about anyone in the ACC on any given day. Hell, we beat Carolina at their place last year and they made it to the finals:

ND almost lost to Radford. They might suck

I may disagree with the premise of the original post. But it's the middle of November, so I will accept the overall theory.
