Pitt is going to have to get past Charlie Browning their fan before they will honestly buy into this program. Right or wrong, 35 years of damage will take some sustained success to build this fanbase. Beating Miami will be another building block to people taking notice.
50k would be a pretty darn good turnout for Pitt. I don’t see it being that much.
I suppose it's possible we'll announce that many, but unfortunately there won't be anywhere close to that actually in the stadium.
Who cares how many show up and just enjoy the game.
No chance 50k for a noon game. I’d be very happy if we get 45k.
Why would there be a sudden spike in turnout?
We’re an above average to good team playing the current last place team in the division
To win said division, we still need help. And even if we did get said help, most everyone would not have optimistic expectations for the Clemson game
Throw in the fact that Pitt usually fares poorly against Miami and, yeah, it’s easy to see why attendance will likely be the same as other weeks

We are averaging about 44k after 4 games. Should be at that number if not a tad more with Miami.

The weather dopes will have a fix on the weather for a Saturday noon game on Saturday at 10 am.
A little extra buzz to this game since Pitt riding high with a 4 game winning streak. Also, even though Miami fell on their face against GT, they are a marquee name and a 'big game' because of it. I would expect 45-50k, which is a little better than avg. If Pitt wins this game and has a good shot at the Coastal, I would think the rest of season will have more interest among casual fans and a few more attending than usual.

I’m sick of this conversation. Be nationally relevant and we will average 50k+ and 60k for big games.
People aren’t going to suddenly come out in droves when “making the playoffs” needs to be a goal in a pro town.
I like this team. I like the direction. But if we are scrambling to stay ahead of middling programs in a weak division, it is what it is. Doesn’t mean it can’t be a fun year. Doesn’t mean it can’t continue to get better. Doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be fun to win the Coastal again and this time show this defense on a national stage. But let’s not call each other bad fans, etc because it is what it is.
The NC game is on a thurs night opposite a Steeler game. Are we gonna have a thread about that too?

I will be there at 7am in Red 5 as I've been since 2002. (Gold 4 previously) Drive from Carlisle for every game, sometimes I come Friday, sometimes I leave at 345am on Saturday, may have missed 5 or 6 games since then due to tennis coaching obligations.
My crew doesn't care what the weather is, too hot, freezing, rain whatever we adapt, and we are there. I hope the crowd is good, but if not we will yell more.

Pitt has a great fanbase. Prob number 4 or 5 in the ACC. I anticipate a good spirited crowd like every week.
That is extremely hard to do, especially in football, and the very first hiccup, the fans will leave.
Well, Miami announced 54k for their game against GT. Not sure if you caught any of the game on TV, but maybe there were 20 - 25k there.
He was final cut from Denver, told him they would resign to practice squad but didn't.
Has been to 3 different teams for workouts after FB's got injured. But all the injuries were less serious then 1st thought, so he was told "sit tight, your workout was great, you'll get your chance but we aren't putting XXXXXX on IR just yet." A certain super bowl contender has had him up there twice.... he will get his shot at some point.
He may be an inch short and .10 40 time too slow, but he has heart, can play on all special teams, I just cant see some team not having a guy like him on the roster.
He can block with anyone, he can cover kicks and punts, he can catch out backfield, nice guy as a wing blocker on fg & xps. Someone is missing out.
Thx for the info. If he doesn't catch on with anyone, I'd love for PITT to bring him back into the football fold in some capacity. It's the kind of mindset we want in the locker room.

Colleges were wrong about him and Pitt got a steal.
15 years ago he would have been an inside LB in a 3-4 or a MLB in a 4-3, but the game has changed. He had like 200+ tackles one of his hs seasons.
Its amazing that even simple things like people in a stadium for a sports event isn't based on actual data.
How are is it to electronically -scanned tickets come up with the actual number of people in the place.
But todays news consumers bite on one liners like Miami had 54k fans in the house.
And noone challenges the bad information.

So 47k were in seats and 60k were in the restrooms, concessions stands, they were packed, a lot were lost and couldn't find their seats so they just wandered around for 4 hrs.

Look. Pitt will get 40k on most days, 45k on good days, and 50k when everything is perfect (game time, weather, opponent).
Making this exact same post every week there is a home game is tiresome.... ESPECIALLY when it is made by someone who likely doesn't go to any home games.
Give it up already. Pitt is middle-of-the-pack in the ACC in attendance, middle-of-the-pack in the NCAA in attendance.... and that is what we will ALWAYS be.
Go to the game and enjoy yourself. And if you don't go to the game, for all that is good and holy STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT.

Focus on what you can control. Show up, bring additional friends and family if possible, and be loud.
Not me and my crew, we start packing up 1 hour before game time, make sure we grab a beverage for walk in, and leave lot half hour before gametime!11:30? Pffffffffft. Not based on how many shuffle in after the kick-off.
