Rice just fired their coach. I'm sure Penni still has family in the Houston area.

Aren't his own roots in that area? That said, If they make THAT move, I think the fan reaction there would be as bad as Tennessee fans to Schiano.

Didn’t he leave them after one year and accepting a contract extension?!

He will be starting at the bottom again no big 5 school is going to touch him. He could end up at Tulsa if the current HC takes an OC job which is a possibility. Tulsa doesn't pay much but I'm sure he and misses can get a new porch.

I remember when he left for ASU, some Rice folks were on another Pitt site telling us the he was a scumbag. Tulsa seemed to have a much more positive take. He was very popular in Tulsa when he left and they seemed to understand his leaving.

FIU when Kiffin leaves seems about right for the Graham’s.
Kiffin is at FAU. My daughter is a Freshman there and it was bad enough going to a game and pretending to root for a Kiffin lead team....but if somehow TG ended up there I will burn the shirt and hat I had to buy.

Crap, I always get those 2 confused. Nice job this year by both Kiffin at FAU and Butch Davis at FIU.

Graham will get a gig in CUSA, or AAC, win for a year or two and this will all be forgotten.
It would actually be pretty funny if he and Norvell just swapped jobs and Graham ended up with Memphis.

Memphis has been smart. In G5 you hire offensive coaches and try to gain an advantage that way because it is much easier to transition coach to coach (which will have to happen if you have any success under a HC) under up tempo offensive schemes than defense focused HCs. Probably the smartest approach for any non-blue blood, unless you are very confident you can have your coach unless the perfect job opens up for him. Hopefully HCPN works out and MSU doesn't come calling for at least 5 more years. If he is successful here and that happens, then it is what it is.

So your daughter, a college freshman, cares who the coach is, and doesn't just go to hang out with her friends?

Actually Kiffin is a good analogy to Fraud, USC, Raiders, Tennessee, FAU, from hot to not.

In 5 years Pitt could set itself up to be a job he might want to stay at. History proved me wrong but I can hope.

People don't understand how the football program is the view to the college , and who would know about Bama if their team was trash for past 30 years ?
