Yesterday was an epic, historic comeback, but not the best in Pitt history.
Not even the 1971 comeback against Navy fits that description

No, it is the 1970 Pitt --West Virginia game in which we were down 35 to 7 at the half in Bobby Bowden's first year at WVU. We came back in the second half to score 4 straight touchdowns with drives each over 60 yards. Incredibly, we never had the benefit of a turnover and almost nothing in the passing game. It was just incredible how the defense would stop West Virginia and we'd get the ball back and then go on one long methodical drive after another. AS time runs out after our 4th second half TD , as I recall, Dave Havern finishes it off with 2 pt conversion to Bill PIlconis

Oh, by the way, after the game, when the West Virginia fans were pounding on the WV locker room door at Pitt Stadium demanding Bobby's head and they didn't succeed, they simply drove back down to Morgantown and hung him and effigy
